Tree Growers (English) Paperback – January 1, 2011

Excellent book. The Hindi isn't totally basic, more like intermediate, but still relatively simple. Lovely pictures, nice clear font. It's nice and interesting that it's set up in the Himalayas, which has a different culture/ethnicity/climate/landscape to the rest of India.It's got a strong eco message (plant trees to encourage healthy rainfall), but it isn't preachy or scaremongering about it, it's just a fun story about the kids at school planting trees. This is a great approach to bring kids up to be ecologically minded without boring them or freaking them out in the process.I've been reading this to my 18-month-old, and he loves pointing at the kids and the trees.I reckon it would be good for adult learners of Hindi as well as kids.
