Do yourself a favor especially if you are a woman: get your hands on as many do-it-yourself manuals whether it's Reader's Digest or Family Handyman books. They provide so much great information and you just can't beat the price! You can learn so much not only about how to do things yourself and save a lot of money, but you can see if the unscrupulous contractors are doing a good job when they come to your house to repair something. It's not just a book, it's an investment! I guarantee you that you can find something that can be used immediately!

I am not a handy person but I am a homeowner with the burdens and benefits that suggests. I have only looked at 4 pages of this book (to which I opened at random), and those 4 pages have solved two long-time problems in my bathroom. What a find, and how simple it all is when someone explains how, tells you the proper tools to use, and illustrates the technique step-by-step. Absolutely a revelation. This is going to be put to immediate use in my early spring home and garage. Delightful!

I've remodeled and repaired three homes, as well as a lot of rentals over the years. This book has been a great help, for the novice and the journeyman. I recently ordered one as a gift for a single woman friend, who had NO idea where to start remodeling her home. The hints and advice saved her a lot of money and frustation!!!

I like this book. It has given me tips & knowledge to some home repair. I'm kinda handy with tools but this has helped me on several occasions as a reference tool and info that I wasn't too sure about. It's a little out dated but the same general principles apply to current applications plus my house was built in 1968 (keeps me warm, dry & it's paid for) so a lot of this works out well for me.

I got this for my husband who likes working with wood. He really likes it. He said it has done great ideas.

I have this book and referred to it often but my grandson saw it and has been reading it when he visits. He picks it up and reads it more than I do now. I didn't want to give him my copy so I ordered one to give to him as one of his birthday presents.

Well-illustrated book featuring more helpful ideas than I will ever get the chance to use. Everything from painting and woodworking tips to electrical and plumbing. No long and tedious articles, just plain, common-sense ideas that make you say, "Why didn't I think of this?" I will save hours and make fewer mistakes by making use of this information.
