Dassault Mirage F1s

Fallos.
Suscribo completamente las críticas de los compradores angloparlantes. Pero es un buen álbum de fotos de los Mirage F1 españoles. Eso es lo que le hace valer. Y el formato es bueno.

Possibly the worst publication I have ever purchased...
I have bought a number of Kagero monographs and have generally been satisfied with them, but this Dassault F1 monograph is possibly the worst publication I have ever purchased. Most of the book's photos are poorly composed, framed and exposed, suggesting they were taken with a cheap point-and-shoot camera by someone--probably the author--with no knowledge of photography. Many of the photos are of the author or random pilots that contribute nothing to understanding of the books' subject matter. The included "drawings," which are usually the highlight of Kagero publications, are blurry sketches copied out of old manuals and reproduced on cheap newsprint paper. The color profiles in the back are dark and muddy as if they were faxed to the publisher for publication. But all this is nothing compared to the incoherent mess which is the text. It's obvious from the prose that the author and editor(s), if any, are not native English speakers, but the basic content organization of the text suggests they have no writing skills in their native language(s), either. Finally, while the the cover implies the book is a broad treatment of the F1, it focuses almost exclusively on the most colorless and inconsequential of operators, Spain. There is almost no information given relative French F1s, which was a major reason for my purchase. If this is what Kagero has devolved to in its Monograph books, I will not be making any future purchases. You have been warned.

Great pictures, interesting topic, but flaws
Not obvious from the title, this book only deals with Mirage F1s in Spanish service. Yet an interesting topic. Many excellent photographs. However, it appears nobody ever proof read this book. The first error is right on the cover: the company is called Dassault not Dessault. On the bottom of every page (where the page numbers are) it says Harrier AV-8S/TAV-8s & AV-8B/B+/TAV-8B etc. etc...

F-1 un Mirage de ala alta no delta.
Magnífica monografía de este estupendo avión, imprescindible para conocer su diseño, desarrollo y desempeño en las diferentes fuerzas aéreas donde ha servido, con los de España entre ellos.

Copy&Paste
The book is a botch, as the author has made a copy paste from other book about Harrier, and this name appears in all pages of the, a part from the fact of using the word Dessault all the times instead of the original name, Mr Marcel DASSAULT must be turning in his grave. However it has great pictures for the nostalgic of the old great days with the F1 in the 14th wing, and includes a small part of the original technical manuals of the aircraft.
