Be patient
We have a lot of bird activity in our yard, but we never had a bird feeder before now. I chose this feeder because I didn't have to worry about installing anything, just stick it on the window. And it had the added bonus of letting my kids get an up close look at the birds as they eat. I attached it to my window... and no birds came. I sprinkled bird seed in the yard and under the window. We then got TONS of birds... in the yard. NOTHING in the bird feeder. I left it up for weeks, and had about given up on it... then one day, all of a sudden we starting getting birds! They were skittish at first and would fly away as soon as anyone moved inside the house, but now they are largely undisturbed by us. It took 5-7 WEEKS for the birds to find the feeder on the window, so give it some time before you give up on it.I have had one brazen squirrel who gets into the feeder every once in a while. He learned to climb the stucco on the wall and jump on, and then into the feeder. And even with the weight of a jumping squirrel the feeder has never fallen off the window (though it did slide down a bit).It can be quite noisy when there is little seed left in the feeder and the birds are pecking down into the plastic frame. It sounds like a tiny hammer outside the window. So now I make sure to add more bird seed before it gets to that point. I also wasn't prepared to hear birds crying as they wait in line for the feeder... it doesn't really annoy us but I thought it worthy of note. Sometimes those birds are loud!

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY — IT DOES NOT STICK TO THE WINDOW!
Such a shame...I was REALLY looking forward to watching the beautiful birds out of this lovely feeder. The problem is, even completely EMPTY it will NOT stick to the window no matter what I do. The suction cups are a joke. First, there are only two suction cups and there should be four for stability. Two cups at the top leave the feeder unbalanced and to make it worse, the two suction cups at the top hold the feeder on by skinny metal HOOKS.I bought this feeder in hopes of being able to feed the birds NOT the squirrels. About eight months ago I purchased a different acrylic feeder (with four suction cups) in the shape of a house. Not once in all that time did the feeder come off the window. The problem with that feeder was that even though it was advertised as “squirrel proof,” no one told the squirrels. The little buggers discovered they could jump onto the top of the feeder, climb in through the front opening then sit in there like they were on squirrel vacation and GORGE themselves on my expensive birdseed (all the while staring smuggly at me as they stuffed their faces). The squirrels did manage to knock the tray and perch stick out of the feeder multiple times in their attempts to climb in, but even holding the weight of some VERY well-fed squirrels, it never came off the window.I bought THIS feeder thinking that at last I was going to outfox a critter with a brain the size of a pea — even they can’t hang on to something round and smooth. Well, I guess the joke is on me, because the squirrels get ALL the food every time this stupid feeder falls off the window three minutes after being filled half way. What a disappointment. This is on its way back to the seller. ):

Best Design Bird Feeder Ever
This is a truly wonderful product. I have finally thwarted the squirrels and chipmunks on my back porch. Ha, Ha; take that you wooly rodents! Whoever designed this bird feeder is a genius. There is no chance that the squirrels and chipmunks will get at the bird seed now. I purchased this item especially for the Tufted Tits that feed on my property. And boy, do they feed from it. It's their own special stash. It took a few tries until they got the hang of landing in the small space; but once one of them pulled it off, the others were quick to follow. The small space is good because it keeps out the Blue Jays and other large birds out who can feed from the larger feeders on my property. I love this bird feeder. It's one of the best purchases I have ever made; and it's a true delight to sit in my kitchen and watch the birds feed. I recommend this product to anyone who loves to watch the birds feed and wants to keep the pesky, hungry rodents away from the food intended for the birds. I cannot believe that this product has made me so happy. Yippee! Hooray! Razzle Dazzle! Thank you for this. I wish I could give this product ten stars; but I can't. Thank you!

love/hate relationship
I have a love/hate relationship with this feeder. This will be the 3rd one I have bought. A great seed capacity, the little liner for the perch is a great addition. My only negative is that there needs to be one more suction cup placed on the bottom (like a stationary one that comes off the feeder.) I have had all of mine come off the window and broken on the ground when the morning doves (country pigeons) dominate the feeder. 2 inside and one sitting on the top. This time I think I will glue those plastic spike thingies over the top of the feeder and see if that deters the doves. The feeder itself is wonderful! It's the bad table manners of the birds.

solutions for suction cups and hooks
Several reviewers complain that the suction cups don't hold in freezing weather. Well, if you moisten them with water, its air-sealing property is probably going to change when it freezes or evaporates. Another product's instructions said to use vegetable oil (although I'd think mineral oil should last longer).I can't believe more people haven't had trouble hanging the feeder on the hooks. I tried to bend them into a shape better aligned to the holes in the feeder, but they're made of spring steel. I finally found a couple of small brass double-ended hooks (actually links of chain), bending one end of each to permanently attach to the hole in the feeder and hanging the other end on the suction cup's hook.
