PendletonMen Long Sleeve Classic Fit Board Wool Shirt, Blue/Green Original Surf Plaid-30789, Large

This is the classic surfer Pendleton from the sixties. Great color, highest quality materials, loose and relaxed fit. I’m 6’1”, 130 pounds with a 38” sleeve length. The Medium Tall is perfect and a little loose on me. Colors had held up to several washings and low temperature drier. This is a warm shirt works great for laying and is just a wonderful shirt that for those of us who survived the sixties this shirt will reminds you of way back when. Must highly recommended based on quality of materials, manufacture, design and Pendleton’s great reputation. Terrific shirt that always looks great and keeps me warm.

If you have read my other reviews for Pendleton wool shirts, you have seen how I have had to order progressively smaller sizes because I own some very old Pendleton shirts and the company has supersized its sizes since the time mine were made. I own an old Board Shirt in size large, and it fits me very well when worn over a T shirt, a longsleeve shirt, and a wool sweater. My regular dress shirt size is small, or 14 1/2 / 32. When it came time to order a new Board Shirt, I knew I had to order some version of small. I considered ordering a fitted small, but went onto the Pendleton web site and found that that size comes with extra long sleeves, which I don't need. My old large Board Shirt is a little bit boxey in design, so I decided to order the new one in extra small. Extra small fits me well, but it will not allow me to wear a thick wool sweater under it. In the future I will order all Pendleton wool shirts in size small, the regular small. The sleeve cuffs are a continuing problem, and a little bit ironic for a manufacturer whose shirts consistently err on the side of being large. The cuffs are very small, even for a small person. Of course, I am wearing them over a long sleeve shirt and a sweater. Pendleton installs two buttons that you can use to close the cuff, but they are both too tight and there is not even enough fabric for me to take it to a tailor and have one of the buttons moved to the extreme edge of the cuff fabric. Here is the workaround: My wife has some tubular black elastic that looks like modern skinny shoe laces. I take a length of this, loop it through the buttonhole of the cuff, and tie it into a loop just long enough to close the cuff the way I want it closed when the loop of black elastic is hooked over the cuff button. Once you have it the way you like it, make a tight knot to close the loop and cut off the extra elastic. It will hardly show, and when it does show it won't look bad. You can find this black elastic that looks like a thin shoelace at fabric stores together will all the other sewing elastic. Just as always, this Pendleton wool fabric was beautiful with intense deep colors. You need wool to get such depth of color. Workmanship was superb. I think Amazon is by far the best place to buy Pendleton wool shirts.

The fit is fine, the colors are great, and the price was reasonable

Got this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! The color and the design of the shirt. Weight of the shirt is good. Softer after washing. We live near a beach, so this gets a lot of use. Very happy with it. Pendleton makes great shirts!

Exactly what a needed a good winter shirt

This is a very stylish shirt. I am 5’9” tall and weigh 257 lbs. I ordered the 2XL and it fit perfectly. The body length of the shirt was absolutely perfect. The sleeves are a tad long on me but insignificantly so. I purchased the shirt in black and it really looks rich and classy. The first time I wore it I received several compliments from women and men. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one of them. Also, I’ve noticed some premium brands cutting corners and are not what they used to be, not this Pendleton Board Shirt - this is the real deal - quality all the way! Spend the money and save this one for the couple special occasions you have each year. It’s too special for an everyday shirt. Invest in a good hanger for it too, spoil this one.

The label says it is a genuine Pendleton shirt. Made in Mexico with American cloth.No where on the Pendleton website does it allude to the fact that their shirts are assembled out of the USA!!!Full price for a shirt MADE OUT OF THE USA!!!

I bought an XS. I would normally take size S eg M&S or River Island for 36” chest. The XS fitted me perfectly. The shirt isn’t as thick as I thought it would be and the chest pockets aren’t button down which I would have preferred. But having said that I’m quite happy with it and won’t be returning it. It’s very well made and nicely styled and all in all a very good buy.

Timeless look. High quality, comfortable, well fitted wool shirt. Washs well and keeps colour. I have one in a different colour I've had for 20 years and it looks the same.
