I did NOT receive this product for free or discounted, so let me give you an honest review.Cons:The case it came in is not all that great, the lid closes lopsided.It is not windproof. A simple breeze will blow the plasma streams where it cannot light just the same as a lighter.It is not waterproof. I would say its about as waterproof as a bic, you still need to dry it for it to work, maybe even less due to the electronics.Inperfections on the finish, a few pits on the lighter itself, not high quality, but for $20, its fine.Forget about lighting candles. Unless its a candle stick, you are not fitting this in a scented candle to light it, the lid prevents access to the wick.The bottom is not flat, so it tips over easy.There is no safety. Even with the lid closed, it still ignites with a push of the button.Pros:With 2 days practice, you can light a cig just as quick as a regular lighter, I don't smoke cigars, but with time and practice I'm sure you can get it lit.No butane taste. However you are breathing in ionized air, which can be bad for you in certain conditions.Its $20. If it craps out, its not the end of the world.Conversation starter. Its unique.It came nearly charged, worked out of the box, and only charged for a few minutes for full charge. Another review said it was flat dead. Put that into consideration if gifting.I've seen the same quality going for nearly 3x as much on other sites. Appears to be a good deal.I have only had it for 4 days. Hasn't needed a charge yet.Update after about 2 weeks, it seems to keep a charge for nearly a week, and charges in about an hour. One thing I've noticed was the buildup of burnt tobacco and also suit generated from the arcs themselves. Needed to be wiped down with a wet napkin and allowed to sit and dry. I suspect the buildup the kill the battery faster, and may eventually corrode the contacts.

A fine cigarette lighter.I purchased the Edison Dual Arc Beam USB Lighter after reading many feedback postings on several brands. Thank you to the folks to take the time to do so. The final decision was for this brand, albeit it required a lot of deliberation. I shall expand on my opinions in short form to provide easier reading and your personal evaluation:Pros:*The product is very professionally engineered.*The fit and finish is beautifully crafted.*The cap is spring loaded and requires minimal pressure to lift and then it remains firmly in place. Ditto on closure after use.*The quality is simply outstanding, fit and finish.*I have owned a British Triumph TR6 roadster for 11 years. Lighting a cigarette is virtually impossible when underway, at any speed. The Edison easily takes care of the challenge with ease and provides safe operation while driving.*The electrical arcs insure a perfectly usable and quick contact point for the light.*The body indentations offer an excellent grip and additional beauty as well.*The battery life is exceptional before recharging is required. The blue charging light is very useful when alerting the user when the charge is complete. Cons:*There are few and not a major concern, but need to be addressed to be fair and objective.*The lighter is rather heavy, but acceptable, giver the excellent battery provided.*The absence of an electrical disconnect when the cap is in the down position. That would be nice, however see below for additional information.*That’s it and hardly worth mentioning.Some asked about the lighter being capable to operate when the lid is closed. It will arc when that is the situation if inadvertently activated while in your pocket. However, the lighter shuts down automatically after 10 seconds. The lighter temperature remains throughout at body heat, if carried in that fashion during the time frame. It will not operate again until the activating button is pressed. First of all, quick delivery was the good thing.The packaging was pretty decent and I like the classy feel in the product itself.I've never used an arc beam USB Lighter but this is a really good experience for me!It's comfortable that you don't need to buy another lighter for ages (unless you lose this one). However one negativity is that you cannot use this to everything for ignition. Yet if you only intend to burn cigarettes, this would be a perfect item for you.I wish the beam projectile area is bigger but anyway, overall it is a good buy!

Clearly, I'm the husband. Works great in the wind, has a good balance, and it's an attractive lighter. BUT, they have a guard around the arc that prevents getting the tip of a normal cigar to the arc. You have to hold it about an eighth of an inch from the arc and without a lot of inhaling it won't start. About the only thing you can light easily is a cigarett or something about that diameter. I can get the cigar to light, but I almost passout from sucking on it so hard. (hold the smart remarks.) If you smoke Cigars it should be one star.

It is beautifully made and once charged worked fine.... But, it began to loose it charge more often then should have and stayed on the charger quite a bit. The lighter only lasted slightly longer than 6 months. I got this as a gift and once I saw it wasn't being used and asked it whereabouts, i was informed that it not longer worked. It actually looks like it burned itself out. He actually very seldom used it, was very proud of his lighter and just showed it off. The most use of it was just to show it off when he went out and it was considered an accessory, not just a lighter. i contacted the seller about the warranty and was told i would receive a response within 2 business days. After the 4th day and still no response from the seller, I informed Amazon and to this day I still have not heard anything..... Poor customer service from this seller.....
