SEIKOMaddox Wall Clock

SEIKO has made some great timepieces, so I figured this clock would be of at least a certain level of quality and worth the asking price of $59.99 USD. To put simply: it is not in the same league by any stretch of the imagination.The wood housing is composed of thin, plasticized veneer, not solid wood. From a distance, it is passable. It is very similar to the fake wood paneling that was popular in 1980s electronics.Unfortunately, the asymmetrical/sloppy placement of the time demarcations is less forgiving. Simply eyeballing it, it is clear that they are not evenly spaced or trued in any fashion. These must have been hand applied and without a template.Lastly, this clock does not contain a Japanese-made movement system and appears to have the same generic system of most cheap home clocks.Disappointing to see Seiko put there name on this, especially when other pieces have been of such quality.

It's an attractive, slim profile Seiko clock. The clock keeps good time and is quiet. It looks better than on the website.
