Smoke Pistol Bbq Smoke Generator

Junk. I’m trying to figure out a way to reengineer mine. If anyone has figured out a work around or some kind of alteration to make this thing usable, please let me know. I’m sure anyone could come up with a better design in their shed at the trailer park. Pretty much a paper weight. Might have a couple bucks in scrap metal. I’m very disappointed. Probably why it’s no longer available on Amazon. Reviews might tip people off. I bought it in 2017 and only got a chance to try it today. A couple days before Thanksgiving 2018. Too bad. If I had tried it back when I bought it, I definitely would have returned it. If I only paid 20 bucks for this, I wouldn’t be so surprised. A lot of money for something so useless.

I purchased this to use on my Caja China that I also purchased on Amazon. If you can't read, then go to YouTube and check out how to light this. It lasts for 4-5 hours per refill! Just as described. You can adjust the amount of smoke from light to heavy. When I opened the top of the Caha to check on my pork butts, smoke came pouring out! I couldn't even see into the box the smoke was so thick. Now this is a cold smoke, meaning if you want pork and so forth cooked you have to use the charcoal or other heating method. When I finished the pork butt had a very good hickory smoke flavor! I see people posting its difficult to light, not in my case, the instructions on the page and on the video are the same and it works. I mounted it on the end of the box, just make the screw that it hangs on stick out not flush, you need that extra "wiggle" room to stick the actual smoke barrel into the box.

I bought this cold smoker several years ago. I tried to use it once but was unable to keep it producing smoke. I did not have time to dedicate to it at the time so I reverted back to my other smoker. The unit and cartridges have been store in an outside storage building for several years. I tried 2 different cartridges today while watching the youtube video. Still will not continue to produce smoke. A waste of time and effort. PO garbage unless it can be re-engineered

Very light when you pick it up but packs a big punch. Price wise, it was $15-$18 cheaper than most suppliers that sell the identical model. The use of cartridges is easy but can get frustrated to light. Puts out a good amount of smoke and easy to adjust. I use it in my smoker and gas grill for cold and hot smoking

Save your money. It doesn't work. I've tried several sessions with the pistol and have had Little to next to nothing success. If you have any cartridges left over, as I do, I suggest you empty the contents into an aluminum foil packet with several punched holes, and put it directly on the charcoal or electric fire base. You'll get more smoke in less time than with the balky pistol.

tried 1/2 dozen cartridges, it just doesn't work, make a little smoke and quit. I called the company for help blamed damp cartridges, and my technique. Great idea but the only smoke i got was up my backside and this generator didn't do it.
