This is a BIG brush and I begin most of my paintings with this bristle brush even though I am working in acrylic. It's a bit stiff but that is just fine as I prefer to really scrub the paint on the canvas in creating my underpainting. Caution … it does shed bristles with the first use. I buy these brushes three at a time as I would not be without one whether working a 16"x20" or a 4'x5' canvas.

Great large brush for the price. Has large easy to hold handle and works well with both acrylic and oil paints.

Did not pay attention to size, good brush.
