Have You Seen the Saucers X2
I have had these on vinyl for ever and never noticed until I purchased the Two-For set that You get Back-to-Back "Have You Seen the Saucers" It is the last song on Early Flight (studio) and the first song on Thirty Seconds (live).. So playing the CD straight through gives you a double dose of that cool song...Thought that was interesting...Peace Out..

Stellar Reissue of Classic Airplane!!
These 2 LP's are often maligned or overlooked when discussing the Airplane. That notion is DEAD WRONG. This is some of the best music this band ever did. And the Barbata-Cassidy-Kaukonen-Kantner band grooves and rocks hard. The songs are good too. I have most of the live releases that have come out and it does get a bit tiring with the same songs turning up on every release, so it's a nice change to hear some of the later period stuff. I also recommend the CD "Last Flight" of the 9/22 last show of the tour. Some people are whining about the sound quality, but it's not that bad and the band is on fire. You couldn't tell they were about to break up! Very Recommended!

Choice
Jefferson Airplane released several live albums, and "Thirty Seconds Over Winterland" is one of the best. Really good sound. As for "Early Flight", it's a collection of outtakes from over the years. A lot of great recordings that otherwise may never have seen the light of day. Combining the two albums makes this CD a choice little number!

I Waited a long time for this Album
I waited a long time for this album. As a live performance it's better than average. It captures the energy of an Airplane/Starship concert, and nI went to quite a few during the Sixties andn Seventies

The best rematered reissue ever for the Airplane
I'm a die-hard fan of the Airplane since I often listened to their smash hit 'Somebody To Love' on the radio more than forty years ago. Generally we called such kind of rock music as 'psychedelic sound' or 'west-coast sound' in those days here in Japan. The fact is that it was my first tempting encounter with the Airplane. Then I bought the album 'Thirty Seconds' no less than four times counting from the first release in vinyl in 1973.In this BGO remastered edition, tone and balance of each instruments of all tracks are powerfully improved.Remastering is updated in this year, and quite a great success. It is very near to the sound quality of vinyl once I had.The other album 'Early Flight' is compiled from unreleased tracks on any of their albums including out-take materials. A style of sound with moderate blending of psychedelic rock and contry blues was later taken over by Hot Tuna, I guess.A few tracks are featured female vocalist Signe Anderson, Grace's predecessor. However, she was rather inconspicuous among the band. Her voice was suitable to sing folk rock or country ballad. A replacement by Grace was wise decision.Grace Slick and Janis Joplin might be called equally as 'Queen of Psychedelia'. Do you agree with me? It's really worth buying this two superb albums on one cd. Highly recommended.Sorry, I did not mention track-by-track reviews since I can not write well in English. An old-fashioned Airplane is still going strong!

One for the collection but not the best
So, I had to have this as, back in the day, it was the first JA album I bought and I did it on the day it was released. It's a great album but there's no Spencer Dryden and no Marty Balin and, as good as Papa John Creach is, it's a different sound. It's absolutely worth having as part of your collection though.

A strange juxtaposition of these two albums
If you like Jefferson Airplane Takes Off and Surrealistic Pillow, then you'll like Early Flight. If you like the Bark / Long John Silver era Jefferson Airplane, you'll like Thirty Seconds... but it's a strange pairing.

Five Stars
Loved listening to all the songs. Quite a different sound compared to the vinyl albums that I have.
