Goodie bag gift for Spy or Secret Agent theme birthday party
For my son's 10th birthday party, he had a "spy/secret agent" themed party. I purchased the Wild Planet Night Gear as one of the goodie bag gifts. The boys were beyond thrilled when they saw it! Great price, pretty durable, great toy overall. Amazons order processing and shipping time is amazing as well!

My daughter said thies works great inside, but outside it's very blurry.

Meh.
My son (5) wasn't too excited about it, but he likes flashlights, and it has a light, so he's played with it. The "telescope" isn't functional enough to be what it purports to be. I think he treats the device as a laser when he's playing. I'm glad it wasn't too expensive.

You never know why they love it - but they do
For Christmas my son asked Santa to give him "Binoculars that glow in the dark". We don't go into stores, and we don't watch TV very much, so I guess that's some general archetypal "robot" thing. Anyway, I was really happy to find this thing! I was afraid that he would notice that it is a monocular, not a binocular, but he did not, and was quite happy! He sleeps with this thing now, casting red flashes on the walls and everywhere. For an adult's point of view this thing is _COMPLETELY_ useless: you can't really see almost anything through it; it doesn't magnify anything, and the field of view is really small. It's absolutely, perfectly useless! It also has nothing to do with night vision! But they love it, so I am happy that this toy exists =)

Would have probably rated it higher if the packaging hadn't been totally in Spanish. Lucky for my 8-year-old daughter that I just so happen to be bilingual but it would have been nice if she could have read the directions and information for herself.

Tiny little thing
I bought this as a possible favor for my 6-year-old son's Spy Training sleepover party, thinking it would be fun for the boys to run around with in the dark. But, it is tiny (about the length of my thumb) and really more like a red light than anything else. As someone else mentioned, you can see very little through the "lense." My son used it for a couple minutes as a "laser," and then abandoned it. For a couple dollars more, we are going with the Night Vision Goggles by the same company, which are actually binocular-sized and have many more features.

Great for what it is
Anyone who thought this was "night-vision" for under $10 really needs to have their heads examined. It does have a red little light that illuminates a small area in front of the "viewer". It's a cute little device that my 6 year old loves. Not very high-tech, but still fun, and overall, a great value.
