Nougat Bars From France (Montelimar) 24 Pack 1.06oz

I am reviewing this based on what it is not based on what I wanted it to be. I was having a craving for divinity and wanted to try this out. Obviously this is not divinity. This product is tasty, not too sweet and I like the nuts mixed in. It also tasted fresh and not stale at all. The one problem I have with this is that the bars are soooo tiny. They are a little bit smaller than a granola bar. I won't be buying these again, but if this is what you are looking for then this would probably fit the bill.

I've eaten two bars out of the six bar pack I purchased a few days ago. Both bars had nut pieces that were rancid (the oil in the nuts had gone bad giving an off-taste and smell). After finding the first one, I was willing to give the bars the benefit of doubt but I wasn't pleased to find two rancid pieces in two bars. That isn't a good sign. Even if the nuts weren't spoilt, I would not rate this nougat higher than 3. The bars are overly sweet and not very flavorful. I'd recently purchased another brand (I forget the name) of French made nougat from a local store that was far better than this one. Those bars were fresher (not one rancid piece in 8 bars) and were more flavorful - one variety had figs and almonds (absoultely the best!) and the other Blueberry and almonds. The only downside is that the store may not get anymore. I purchased this brand from Amazon hoping for a repeat experience but I'm disappointed.

I have been to Montelimar, "the worldwide capital of nougat' and they were lovely as are these from Amazon. Crazy thing: I just ate one that I had purchased on Amazon on March of 2012 (2 years and 2 months ago) and the date on the package says 10/2012 BUT this still tasted fresh and delicious! Sounds impossible!? But true, I tell you. (I cannot say this for some of the Italian nougat in cute little boxes that I have bought through Amazon. They seem well sealed too but those get less tender as one moves further from Christmas.) And yes, as our family drove nearer to Montelimar, the Beatles' "Savoy Truffle" was on every tongue!

They were good, but not as good as the nougat my sister brought back from her recent trip to Montelimar. Two days after I received this product in the mail, I was visiting a gourmet shop and they carried this product. :-)

Brings back memories of my days in France. Yum. I would have given them 5 stars if they were less expensive.

I totally loved the nougat . had i been looking for some that i use to get when i visited It when i visited Canada as a chile it was a company name called callard and bowser the only difference is the one from Canada had cherries in it...so if anyone knows where i can find it like that let me know plz....but these i thought were the closest to it...Yum

Fast delivery and packaged nicely. A couple of the bars I've tried so far have been stale unfortunately. The ones that are actually fresh are delicious.

Product is not nearly as good as El Amendro nougat bar. It was lacking in all taste and sweetness. I wouldn't buy it again.
