Awesome product. Was so tired of restringing my trimmer. Installed in seconds. Highly recommend. So easy to change and add new line.

After some "persuasion" I finally had this Universal head fit on my weed eater. Unfortunately the weed eater has an issue pushing this head around and the speed isn't quite there. No fault of the product, just not enough UMPH in my trimmer to get this baby really humming.

Concerns on other reviews that this device is a bit heavy for smaller trimmers is valid. Needs horsepower to drive it. Otherwise it is quite effective.

I "used up" my first Ugly Head trimmer head so bought another. I (66 y/o grandma) do the weed eating and mowing on our nine acres and grew frustrated trying to restring when I ran out of string in my traditional loader. My son got me an Ugly Head Trimmer 2 years ago and I loved it, but wore out the part where the string loads. I keep precut lengths of twine in my pocket and never have to trudge back to rewind like I used to. This is a really helpful little attachment.

This head did not work very well on a Troy Bilt 4 cycle TR575SS trimmer. Yes, it fit (one star) and it was an easy install (one star) of less than 5 minutes. But beyond that, the head seemed to be too heavy for the trimmer. Technically, 6 lines are whirring around instead of 2. I think this impacted the trimmer more than anything. If I went less than full throttle, the lines would bog the trimmer down and it would die. If I went full throttle, the lines would break off in less than a minute. I tried 3 different lines: the samples that came with the head and two different .095 lines I had, one round and one triangular. The triangular was very tight in the holes. It didn't matter. All were useless. For a job that takes me usually 20 minutes to trim (big yard, front and back), I spent 1 hour and 15 minutes trimming the yard. Well, actually about 20 minutes of trimming and the rest was replacing line or restarting the trimmer. which required multiple pulls when the motor bogged down because of low rpms.The construction quality is good so durability should be good, and it came with quite the selection of nuts and adapters, so I would imagine it would fit on just about any trimmer out there, but anything wimpier than a large 4 cycle trimmer would have trouble turning this head, as it is physically heavy and has six lines spinning around.One other minor annoyance...I ordered the Shakespeare "Ugly Head Hybrid" that can use the plastic blades, too, but I got the regular "Ugly" head, instead.

When starting the trimmer with the head installed, the trimmer lines often are not sticking straight out. This makes it difficult for a marginal engine (25 cc) to start. Not good.

I love this thing! I had to order it from amazon because I couldn’t find this particular one in stores. It can be tricky to install since it’s ‘universal’ but once you get past that it’s great! I use it with 5 sided .95 string and the string lasts a long time!

Does not work as good as my trimmer head did before this one. I have to wonder if I was using a higher quality head trimmer than this. I bought this because someone I know loves this product..
