The first one I got wouldn't dispense water at all. I completely disassembled the float valves and found an O-ring had popped off the valve . Hopefully that was a fluke but YMMV. Put it back together and it works great now. The first gallon or so of water was greyish--I don't think they clean the inside of these much during manufacturing--but that's typical of pretty much everything I've bought that plugs into a water line (faucets, refrigerators, ice makers, etc). It's nothing fancy, but it's what I expected for the price--well, except for the O-ring problem. I didn't try contacting the vendor about the O-ring problem--it was easier to fix it than box it up and ship it back.

We have had the unit for a few weeks now and are very pleased with it. Hot water is hot enough to brew tea and cold water is just right for drinking. The unit is very well built with quality parts inside. Unit works flawlessly and is surprisingly quiet. Installation was a bit confusing as we were shipped some extra parts by mistake but I figured it out and got it working. Comes with external filters or internal filter configuration; setup is a bit different for each. The service at Magic Mountain Water Products is exceptional. You can talk in real time to knowledgeable experts and technicians, who are more than willing to answer questions and provide assistance. To get quality personal support these days is unusual; in fact I was so pleased with the service that I decided to get an RO system from them too.

This is the worst water filter I have purchased. Within a week of setting the unit up it started to make a loud beached whale sound after each glass of water. I contacted the manufacturer to return and they informed me once the unit has been plugged up I could not return it. But the sound was normal and could be fixed with a replacement part. This to me said these units have a known defect but are still bring sold. I would buy anything from Bottomless again.

Worked great for 2.5 years. Then no cold water. Instructions are terrible.Opened up the unit to see how to replace the thermometer. The thermometer is in a sealed unit and support could not help. Basically, the unit is now wothless except for hot water coming out of both spigots.

Cooler was easy to install and water is nice and cold (or hot). Only drawback for us is the specs seem to not include the height with the cover piece at the top. Spec height showed it would fit under our upper cabinets, but with the cover on that hides the water hose and reservoir, it does not. Since this piece is not critical to use, we leave it off so the unit can be slid to the back of our counter. Cost of the unit and one filter is actually less than what we would pay for one year of water delivery service and no more heavy bottles to lug!

I was disappointed to see that the filtration is just a single filter that sits outside of the machine making it awkward and unsightly. The machine sounds like a foghorn when it draws in water and thought this would go away but it still going strong after a year. As I live in Canada shipping it back with the probably very costly.

This product provides exactly what I was looking for. Instant hot (like boiling hot) and cold (colder than the Brita pitcher I used to keep in my fridge) water that also tastes great, thanks to the filtration system. I admit that I'm not very handy, and even I was able to hook this kit up without much of a problem. I decided I didn't want to tap into my copper pipes, so I went to Home Depot and explained what I wanted and they were able to help me build my own little brass adapter to split the 1/2" flex piping under my kitchen sink into a 1/4" t-joint to connect to the waterway.I have put up with crappy-tasting, over-chlorinated water in my town for so long and I can honestly say, after several weeks of use, that I am completely satisfied. I had been contemplating getting a bottle-based cooler and now that I have this thing, I'm so glad that I didn't. I now drink much more water and less sugary stuff like soda fruit juice, and I would consider this an fantastic investment in both my comfort and my health.
