Never had to use and hope to keep it that way. However, it is small enough to carry without it being too obstructive. We own both the pocketclip and keychain versions and they're both well made.

Nothing to dislike, and very fairly priced. Sturdy, discrete. Haven't had to deploy it on any miscreants, lol, but here's hoping not to ever have to do so. +Recommend.
