Great training device
So far this has worked out really well for us. We have a 7 month old lab who was in need of some training - barking, nipping the kids, etc. Our neighbor had good experience with these kind of collars so we figured we would give it a try. I have to say I wasn't sure how this would do as it isn't as expensive as some of the other ones out there. We have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this. We have been using it for about a week now. We like that it has both a vibrate and static (shock) option with multiple levels. We have found that after the first few times we really only need to use the vibrate setting to get him to stop the negative behavior. The company offers some great tips on how to use it as well. They are very committed to making sure that you are using their product the right way so it can be effective. Often just hearing the "beep" when it turns on is enough. I would definitely recommend this to people looking. Hopefully this will hold up just as well as some of the more expensive models out there.

This has made life with our dog so much easier!
Unfortunately, the one I ordered didn't work when it arrived, so I contacted the company and, to my surprise, they immediately shipped out another one free of charge. They didn't even make me ship the broken one part - they said I could just use it for parts if I needed to. So, awesome customer service right off the bat.As for the product itself, it's pretty quick and easy to set up, but both pieces need to be fully charged for like 3 hours before you can use them together, so it's not ready to use out of the box. My dog is 85 lbs. and a beast. The reason we got this after so many years is because he's become obsessed with a tiny dog that lives next door, on the other side of our fence. He digs - and he's furiously fast and unstoppable when he decides to do it. Anyway, after many discussions we finally decided this was a good choice because of the option to use sound and vibration before any static shock. He was fine with the collar, but we only use it to train him outside of the house. We've been using this with him for a little over a month now and he does well with the highest vibration. It unnerves him and he tries to shake it off, but immediately knows it's time to come inside, and he does - to our utter amazement! We've only had to use the static shock one time (at the lowest setting). He likes the collar - it means he gets to go outside. There's no apprehension at all, no fear, which was my biggest concern. As for quality, the collar has probably bumped into our slider multiple times and been in the sprinkler with no issues. The remote has been dropped numerous times and it keeps on going - so far so good!A nice side effect of using the remote is that I've gotten in the habit of beeping it (to wake it up) as I call him into the house and now he associates the beep with "time to go in" and I don't even have to say anything. And, speaking of the sleep mode - I wish it were longer than 90 seconds, as I don't like to make it beep repeatedly (and to my knowledge it can be shut off) when I'm outside with him because I feel like the sound confuses him. I would prefer the wake up button to be silent or the sleep mode to be more like 5 minutes. That's why I gave it four stars instead of five.

Not the collar for us but works as promised
I wouldn't say it has changed our lives as I had hoped but it is helping a little. Earlier in the year we rescued a SATO dog from Puerto rico. He's a sweet pup and around 15 lbs. We have a fenced in yard but live by a trail where there's constant traffic of bikers, joggers, a people walking their pets. Since it got warm out and people are out and about on the trail our sweet pup became so anxious outside, running along the fence nonstop barking at everyone on the other side. It got so bad that he started going to the bathroom in the house because he couldn't relax and go outside.I was definitely hoping for a miracle but that didn't happen. The collar was big but like another reviewer said I rolled up the excess and secured with a rubber band. It fits good. I originally said that I wasn't going to use the shock feature but the beep and vibration doesn't to phase him at all.The controls can be a little confusing in the beginning but we got the hang of it. I think for our situation a collar without a remote would be best. The remote doesn't work from inside the house like I had hoped so I have to go out with him every time. One thing I did not like about the remote is that every time you turn the power on or turn it on from sleep mode (which is often) it beeps. The same beep that goes off when you hit any of the buttons to correct a behavior. The dog looks at me confused every time like he did something wrong.
