I needed a generic hump jumper for bag making. This should suffice.

This is a fun little tool that I use on a regular basis. First, it is perfect for helping to change the needle on your sewing machine, Simply place the needle in the hole, from the top, and you can use the rest of the reed to hold onto while you put the needle in place. Lock the new needle in place and pull the reed down and off the needle. There you go! New needle in place and no stab wounds ( I used to keep band aids next the machine).The secondary purpose of this handy tool is to help you machine over heavy seams. I used it constantly this past year while sewing face-masks. When I did the top-stitching in the final stage, inevitably my machine would have trouble going around the corners. It would stall on the feed dogs and the needle would go up and down and the fabric wouldn't move. We've all been there.... With this you simply use it as a wedge, raise your foot, put the reed behind and under said foot and then lower it. Sew as normal and as you go past the heavy seam the reed will gradually be pushed out the back with the material. You can use other items as wedges (a plastic fork with a couple of the inside tines removed works), but this one was made for the job and is a bargain. Do yourself a favor and add it to your sewing kit.

This is a great tool. Most mid-range and up Viking and Pfaff sewing machines include the ‘hump jumper’ tool as an accessory. This tool can be used to hold the needle for inserting into the needle clamp (no more dropped needles). But I use in for sewing over seams that are thicker than the rest of the fabric. For example, top stitching face masks. It keeps the presser foot even so the needle stays straight and prevents needles breaking. It is a must for every sewing machine. I wanted 2 so I could hang on to one after the one used on the back fell off the back of the machine.

This notion has been so helpful! You just slide it under your presser foot before you get to a thick seam, and it sews over the seam smoothly. It has a different thickness on each side, so you can choose if you have a slightly bulky or very bulky seam. Since this just fits under the presser foot, it's not machine specific. Love this- should've gotten one sooner!

I can’t believe it took me until now to find out about this hump jumper. If I slip it under the back side of my foot as I go over thick seams it eliminates the getting stuck, stitch irregularities and wobbly seams. If I use it when starting out a seam on fabric like silk or Jersey, anything your sewing machine feed dogs would eat, it totally keeps that from happening. Great tool.

This little tool is great! Helps with sewing over bulky seams. What I really love tho is that the hole used to hold a machine needle is not round. It is rounded in the front but, the back portion of the hole is flat! Ight holds the needle in the correct position for placing it into the sewing machine.

Everyone who sews needs this little gadget. I hemmed 9 pairs of Levi’s for my son and this little tool made quick work of them!

I was forever breaking needles on my sewing machine and putting strain on the engine, not anymore! I used this item a couple times to keep my presser foot level while sewing through thicker material where the seems meet. It works like a charm! Buy it! Seriously!
