Of course, those of us who attended Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan as Campers and later as Staff in the 1960's will think this book could be three times longer and include more of the great stories and tall tales about Camp Staff and Midnight Events of Importance. I was West Camp's Quartermaster and later Handicraft Lodge director 1964-66 and my older brother was a Camp Staffer at West Camp's Field Sports area, and later at East Camp. We both share many great memories of those days! This well-written book has no mention of the Camp Staff bus rides to Rhinelander (between summer sessions) to wash cloths or visit the popular bowling alley, singing songs and trading lies all the way. Perhaps for the better. Great photographs included on every page, and you'll learn a lot about the Camp's history, much of it new to this reader. Also a worthy retelling at the Camp's development over the decades, both amazing and surprising. I'd like to see a book published with more historical text, more stories, etc. But until that day comes, this well written handbook will serve us well.

This book is a great history of one of the country's oldest and best Boy Scout reservations. Three generations of my family were associated with Camp as both campers and adult leaders. The book brings back many great memories of where I, like so many others, learned not only scouting traditions, but appreciation and love of nature. It is great to know that Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan continues even bigger and better than before. Thanks to Ian and his collaborators for this great walk through time.

Very well written with tons of historic photographs. An inside peek into one of America's most historic Scout Camp.

Lots of memories for those who attended or staffed Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan over the years. My brother, my husband and my sons all spent time there so these were gifts for them, they all seemed to enjoy the books.
