This isn't Michelangelo's notebooks (there aren't any), but a collation of letters and poems that mirror his life--as such, it is an excellent volume. It's an unique volume to be valued by any student of the subject.

Beautifully designed book. I only wish we had a parallel Italian text, at leaston some of the writings.

An amazing book for anyone interested in Michelangelo or his time period. You learn a lot about how mail was sent during his time as well.

Great book

This is a very good book a must read for everyone

First, this edition may not be the best way to display Michelangelo's exquisite art. It looks like a gift shop book. It could have beenlarger format. However, the author and publisher have us in a stranglehold. There really are no other options. Some of the images inthis book you will not find elsewhere.Then we turn to Michelangelo's correspondence, which is unintentionally funny. I mean, the man knows how to gripe.Also he cries poor, when from context you derive that he was a wealthy man.Overall, I would say it is a buy. Especially for those interested in the Renaissance.

I expected more art from this book instead I read A LOT of letters from Michelangelo. Regardless, the book arrived on time and in good condition.
