Needs larger attachment
The vacuum is fine for hardwood, tile and rugs but the attachment is very narrow. Apparently you can’t purchase a wider end to vacuum a larger width area so you use a lot of manpower pushing back and forth covering a narrow area whereas a wider attachment to the suction pole would hasten vacuuming time and effort. It’s like painting a ceiling with a window trim roller instead of full size.

Could be better
Couple of pet peeves:1. Loud when rolling on the floor. Wheels should be rubberized. They’ll last longer too.2. Need booth hands when extending the wand. Could have easily been designed for just one. Release button should be on the part that’s moving, not the other way around.3. Floor brush, not the motorized one, should be larger.Otherwise, suction is ok, not heavy.

OK, until it stops working
I've owned about four Kenmore progressive canister vacuums. Love them, and I thought this was going to be another great vacuum. This is a good basic vacuum, not as equipped as I would have wanted, plus it is terrible with vacuum hard floors. Carpeting was the only thing it did well, and it didn't have attachments and tools for other jobs like my previous Kenmore did. But it was great on our carpets. Now, today, after only 13 months of use, the motorized head stopped working. I checked and nothing is inhibiting the brushes. And the reset button does not work. That means, this vacuum lost its one redeeming feature, doing a good job on carpets, because you need the motorized head to work. The manufacturer only offers a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Therefore I got 13 months use out of this vacuum that is no longer usable and is not covered by a warranty. This was an expensive mistake. I lost $208 on this vacuum. Don't make my mistake, get an extended warranty, or buy a better vacuum.

👎🏻Extremely CLUMSY & DIFFICULT to manage👎🏻
👎🏻really put LOTS OF TIME reading everything 🙇🏻♂️said and shared about this product… so I was extremely surprised first because it was very hard to put together🤷🏻♀️? (thank God that usually never happens with me 🙏🏻😇)My time zoned is 3 Hours early, so Kenmore ustomer Service was closed when I tried to call… not open weekend so I needed to put a lot more effort to get a hold of them. Finally got this together, yesterday cannot believe how the design makes it SO HEAVY MUCH heavier that it needs to be?! (the length of the wand makes it so clumsy. And the handle mechanism itself is too heavy right in the area it should be less cumbersome)☹️ The wand is so long(without an option to shorten !) I tried vacuuming furniture…was ridiculously difficult(I 😩had to hold the whole arm with both my hands in order to vacuum a simple recliner.; I think result is I’m Navigating this heavy concoction (wand)and there’s really NO GOOD ATTACHMENT for furniture!👎🏻👎🏻 I purchase a canister vacuum I like a lot but it’s so much EXTRA WORK CLEANING The bag less area. directions are to clean the HEPA filter after every use 😞 ,Which means it’s inevitable that some other dirt I just vacuumed up Go right back into the air I cleaned up let’s go back in the air ! even following those directions with the constant cleaning the filter and vacuum container it’s sits in means I have to BUY ADDITIONAL FILTERS TOO OFTEN! (realized I’m not saving money, and exposing myself to the dirt and dust I’m trying to get rid of! (just saw my neighbors bagless vacuum..,the filter is NOT placed in such a area as she has to clean it with each use, however it’s fl stand up vacuum) I purchased this because consumer reports rated EXHAUST..:: ITS EXTREMELY important that’s a vacuum does a good job in this area..,The bags are not HEPA it’s only a small exhaust Hepa filter that you will have to REPLACE?! surprised me as well I know I did my homework so how I missed this?!🤷🏻♀️Still I’m going to try it on the carpet..Because I put so much work into this search I still hope it’s engineered to make up for all these problems🤷🏻♀️Ps. If it works well on the carpet and you can find a furniture attachment a strong person might be OK with this vacuum🤷🏻♀️👎🏻UPDATE:Another disappointment:Unlike my other canister vacuum from Amazon I’ve had a couple years, doesn’t have a scratch on it and this I brought in to my room yesterday didn’t even realize it must’ve rubs against something and I’m shocked that big scratches now up The side of the vacuum.. normally I don’t care that bad things like that too much but this is ridiculous way too fragile.. that’s just one day😳😱👎🏻Another even more important because it’s mechanical: Instructions say to take the hose out of the vacuum to be rented from deteriorating early and ITOTALLY agree with it once you see the set up. However when you do that you have over a 2 inch hole from the Vacuum bag “mouth” !! Which means what was dust and dirt I just bought for this clean exhaust factor it’s just open nothing I can do about it other than make up something to cover it myself but now that I know the saying things “paint” It’s so fragile I’m not gonna try 👎🏻😱

House smells so clean but SO heavy!
After doing my research, I decided on going with a bagged vacuum instead of a canister upright that I had for the past few years. I don’t have many carpets in my home and it works great for the hardwood floors. I love the ease of use with hardwood vs. carpet attachments. The telescoping wand is an added bonus. The bag keeps in all the dust and particles out of the air and it makes it smell cleaner when you are done. I’m really happy with how this thing cleans. My only complaint is the weight and it’s hard to maneuver on my rugs because it’s such a beast. It’s not easy to lug around or get up and down stairs without carpets. I think it’s built to last. I’m hoping to have it for a very long time 🤞🏻

Good vacuum for floors and carpets
I had a very similar vacuum for 15 years. This new model is almost the same machine. My only major dislike is the on/off switch was on the wand handle. This model has the switch on the canister. Obviously, the person making this design change does not do any vacuuming! It is so much easier to turn the vacuum on or off where you are vacuuming. It is less convenient to have to walk back to the machine to do this, even though it is not that great a distance. My only other dislike is the smaller floor brush. I know the brush on the carpet attachment can be turned off on the wand for use on floors, but it is much easier to get into corners and near baseboards with a separate attachment. I would considerpurchasing a regular sized floor brush. I wish I had kept the attachments from my old vacuum, as I think the floor brush would fit my new model. These two factors are the only reasons I didn't give an overall top rating!
