Makes my small laptop, more functional
Most of us, no small laptops only have so many ports, and with all the gadgets and gizmos that we have such as a wireless keyboard, mouse and other items along with monitors and other things that need to be plugged in this is a must push button switches to turn the items off and on, so they don’t need to stay unplugged great Value for the money matches

Great design, reliable
I've used this for HDMI and USB flash drives and it works great. I love the sleek black design. I've never had any problems getting it to work for me!

A competent USB hub with indiviual power switches for its ports - ideal for connecting simple devices.
With my ever growing group of devices, I once again found myself in need of a new USB hub. My needs were simple, I had no intention of connecting a hard drive or anything that would draw a significant amount of power, all I wanted to do was connect multiple input devices like keyboards, trackpads and gamepads. I came across this Sabrent model with individual on/off switches for each port and liked that idea. This hub is inexpensive and has performed the function for which I needed it very well. As is often the case, you do get what you pay for so this hub doesn't feel very solidly constructed and the lights above the ports kind of bleed over into adjacent ones and I ran into one minor issue with it where for a time it failed to recognize the trackpad on a keyboard/trackpad combination device. It has worked flawlessly aside from that one hiccup. One thing to bear in mind if you plan to use this to connect external storage is that it is a USB 2.0 hub, so you will not get the best transfer speeds out of USB 3.0 devices. Also, as this hub is not powered, you may need to run into some issues depending on the computer or whatever device to which this hub is connected. I use it primarily on an NVIDIA Shield Android TV and have not run into that issue. I have also briefly tested it on a couple of computers. If you have a need to connect simple devices without a significant power draw and would like the ability to enable or disable them at the touch of a button, this unit will fit the bill nicely and is easy on the wallet. If you need a hub for storage devices or other devices that may need to draw more power from the host unit, you'll probably want to look into a powered hub instead.

Does its job well
This is the first dedicated USB hub I have purchased. (I own several keyboards and monitors with built-in hubs.) I needed it for a damaged PC with only one working USB port, because I wanted to connect a USB wireless adapter and a wireless keyboard and mouse adapter at the same time. The hub itself is very lightweight and has a super short cable. Neither of these are a problem for me, and in this case I actually prefer the super short cable. (The PC I use is inside my entertainment cabinet.) Above each of the four USB ports on the hub is a button that acts as a power switch for the port. I assume that you need to have the button switched to its on position (press it in) in order to use a port, but I haven't actually tested plugging in a device without turning the port's switch on first. When switched to on, there is a relatively bright blue light LED stays on for as long as you have the port's power switched on. The light is on each switch, so if you have all four ports enabled then you get four lights. I would prefer a more subtle approach (maybe move the lights to the back?), but it doesn't bother me enough to take off a star. Not for the price I paid. The hub works without an issue with my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse adapter and my Edimax wireless network adapter. The PC that it's plugged into it is left on 24/7 and is restarted a few times per week, and I haven't had any issues with the hub. Those are the only two devices I have plugged in most of the time, but sometimes I turn on the power to a third port so I can plug in a flash drive. It works without issue. This hub actually isn't ideal for most people, I'd say. It's only a USB 2.0 hub, not 3.0. The PC I use with it has no USB 3.0 ports, so I'm fine with 2.0. If your PC has a super speed USB 3.0 port, then I recommend getting a USB 3.0 hub because it is far faster than USB 2.0. In addition, this port isn't powered. That means that whatever you plug into it has to be low powered enough to draw power from USB directly. Nearly all flash drives, wireless adapters, and other small devices are fine with this, but if you need to use large USB powered speakers or external hard drives, then you may want to consider a powered USB hub. In addition to plugging into a USB port on your PC, powered hubs also plug into the wall. If you only need small devices, or if your power hungry devices plug into the wall on their own, then you probably don't need to worry. That said, the hub can handle some power hungry devices. I once plugged an external USB DVD/CD writer, and it powered right on off only the hub. This is a great little device. It's also super cheap, and it's just what I needed. If you need a cheap hub, then this is a good buy in my experience.

Great little USB hub
I don't know what's going on with computer manufacturers now but they seem to be adding fewer and fewer USB ports to laptops. I've got an 8 year old laptop sitting here that has 4 USB ports, an ethernet port and an HDMI port in it. It's a stock ASUS design and was dirt cheap when I bought it. My brand new HP Pavillion gaming laptop has 2 USB ports. I use my laptop mainly for slicing files for 3D printing, that means I need a mouse, a thumb drive and about 75% of the time my external drive, all of which need a USB port.I needed a USB hub, I needed it fast and cheap and this fit the bill. It works great for my needs and I've had zero serious issues with it. The only real complaint I have is with the cord length, it's the perfect lenght to be both slightly too short and too long at the same time. It's too short to mount it with double sided tape and be out of the way and it's just long enough to get in the way when I'm not using it.It's slightly slow when charging my mouse, but I knew it was a 2.0 when I bought it so I knew it would be a tad slow. I charge my mouse overnight, so it's not that big of a deal.I've had zero connectivity issues with it and the power buttons are nice for those time where I don't want my external drive active but don't want to unplug it yet.Absolutely no regrets with this hub.

Works well with Steam Deck if you don't need the dock
A USB-C hub is pretty much essential if you plan to use desktop mode on the Steam Deck and aren't planning on buying a dock. You don't strictly have to get a hub, since everything from controlling the device to transferring files can be done with free software solutions, but this thing makes life a lot easier, and it's not very expensive.Since it can also do everything a dock would do for the Deck (except stand it up and make it look nice), you could get this instead to save the most money. But if you might want the dock, you don't need to get this as well.Bang for the buck purchase. Recommended for use with the Steam Deck or any general purpose USB-C hub stuff.
