This is a incredibly moving book that snaps your attention from the first poem to the last eulogies for the dying at the end. Spanning across generations and locations all over the globe, the poems are simultaneously epic and quiet, angry and loving, old and new. I have not read a book of poetry in quite awhile, and this book was a reminder that poetry at its finest is a medium that allows the imagination to roam freer than any other mediums. It is in the lines unsaid that I was able to picture life in the Japanese internment camps, the wonder of children in the villages of Thailand, the cozy fall mornings of Seattle. This talented writer needs to be read by anyone and everyone.
