WOW!! So Good!!
Well written story and well developed characters! Michael is the baby boy of the Coach. He is not even allowed to call him dad or father! It has to be Coach!

A good read
I enjoyed this one and how fluid it was. I love that even though there were problems they were easily dealt with and they did not allow that to prevent them from being together.

Great Couple!
Their first person voices alternating POV are fantastic, personalities fun and distinct. Having a spice guy ask what he can bring to a dinner party is a funny intro to the next in the series! Dependable author for funny, intelligent and empathic narratives.

Well that was sweet…
I mean, that was a love bomb. In a good way. I have some questions, but I’m assuming they’ll be answered later in the series.Aside from the typical mechanics being shoddy, it was good. 3.75/5!

Reasonable
Likes:- The romantic leads mostly respect one another and are kind to each other- The romantic leads are nice to children and support marriage- Tiller has the most power and when they discuss intimacy boundaries he is careful to respect Mikey’s consent and also protect Mikey physically during intimacy when Mikey is less careful about his physical well being.-HEADislikes:- Mikey pushes intimacy in public without talking to Tiller about what Tiller is interested in and accepts silence and compliance for consent despite Tiller’s expressed verbal discomfort and dissimulation with Marcus. Silence and compliance are NOT consent.Minus one star for mild consent issues**mild spoilers **They never resolve Mikey’s relationship with his dad or his dad’s reaction to Tiller’s absence from the last game in the book. It’s a loose end that casts a shadow on the HEA.Comments:There is more objective coverage if Christianity in this book as good and bad experiences are mentioned. There are typical misunderstandings common for laypeople that have not attended Seminary, but the coverage isn’t solely negative, which is a lot more realistic.Overall, it’s a reasonable and enjoyable romance without the typical verbal abuse between the romantic leads and the one mild consent violation was due to Mikey’s ignorance and desperation instead of malice. 4 stars

Needs More Something...
I love this author and I couldn't wait to read this book. It was good, funny, witty and sweet until the end. The ending felt incomplete. Did Mikey ever reconcile with any of his family members? Did his book take off without the Riggers' endorsement? What about Raine, did he continue playing out the rest of his contract? Was he able to play with his injuries and how did his relationship with Mikey affect his relationship with Coach? I was not happy with the ending...too abrupt.

Why am I just finding this series?!
I really like the way LL writes and her stories are funny, sexy and a feel good time. It's really shocking that I missed this series but I am prepared to binge it during the holiday weekend. Mikey and Tiller are so meant for each other and I actually cheered when they finally came together. My heart broke for Mikey, he deserved so much more than what he got but he found his match and partner with Tiller. Someone who can see Mikey and more than appreciate him. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

Fantastic series
The whole series of aster valley books are amazing, funny sweet and hysterical. If like me you are not into football and were worried that this book may have to much football dont be. You will love this book as the series opening book, each one is vastly different. This book left me invested in the characters and to the degree l wanted to give a serious kicking to a certain homophobic male. Won't say who but it is fast apparent as is the ones you want to hug and smak round the head and say stop being stupid.Fair to say l love Lucy Lennox books and this series is worth 100%

Swoooon!
Oh wow! I just wanna swoon all over the place over this book! Gush a little too, please excuse me but pheewwww these two!!Loved them both from the off. Sucked in, wrung dry, left in a big puddle of gooey loveliness!Tiller, the openly gay football star. Which by the way was wonderful! I loved how he was out already. No hiding just him being him! He was so great. So kind and humble even though he was a huge star he was down to earth and shined like a star on the field but his nutrition was causing a problem. His coach told him to ask his son for help and although you don't see it you know he fell there and then for the bossy cutie pie Mikey.Mikey... my Mikey as he is now known, had been burned before by a Football star and knew he had to tread carefully where Tiller Raine was concerned. Not only to protect his heart but to keep the Coach, his Dad off his back. He reluctantly accepts a job as Tiller's personal chef and over the years suceeds at keeping a wall between him and Tiller. 5 years getting to know each other and a one off chance at time actually alone together and that wall crumbles. This story is so so good! I loved it all! The build up over the years is not really seen but somehow you feel it. It's like they've been in a relationship that whole time but not really knew it until the physical aspect finally comes into play! I loved them so much. Both were willing to do anything for each other, i fell whole heartedly for them because of that. There were a lot of circumstances and reasons for them not to get involved and i felt the angst of that pouring off the pages but nothing, i mean absolutely nothing could of stopped the inevitable. Goodness once the floodgates opened they couldn't keep their hands off each other! It was hot hot hot!! Phewww! But it wasn't just that you felt. Those 5 years were like they'd built the foundation and it was solid and dependable. I'm gushing i know but this book hit all the spots for me. Little angst, bit of drama, lots of heat, and bucket loads of sweet gooey love!Brilliant! I'm now gonna go pack my bags and move to Aster Valley. I'm gonna grab a seat at the Diner window and watch as the rest of the series unfolds. Here comes Truman... with Sam hot on his trail! I can't wait!!!!

Ooooooh I want to live in Aster Valley
Fabulous second Aster Valley novel, Lucy Lennox writes amazing heartfelt stories. Stories that draw you in from begining to end, why oh why do they have to end ?You know when a book is that damn good, you Don’t. Stop. Reading. When you can’t finish at a certain chapter and come back a little later and you don’t even care what time it is because that story won’t let you put it down until it’s done and then when it’s over, you only want more!!!!But this isn’t even just one those books, this is simply how the utterly brilliant Lucy Lennox caputers us. This is what she does for every single one of her books. She pours her soul into giving you one of the best stories of crazy love with the good and the bad, and the amazing friendships that may or may not develope into lifetime commitments. You’ll be taken on a rollercoaster of emotions withnot only the main characters but also the adorable cast of characters currently living in and going to Aster Valley and I just want more of them. Their level of connection, trust, love and even insecurities is everything we can only dream about and would hope to have in a fabulous novel.Highly recommend anything by this author can't wait for the next instalment of life and love at Aster Valley.

Football Superstar
I thoroughly enjoyed this story of an out gay American football star and the youngest sin of the team's coach . Tiller is an amazing guy, perfect physique and skills for the game and wonderfully fun and sensitive and so very likeable too. Mikey is incredible, A chef and a trained dietician, who has worked with football stars n the past. Sadly he's fallen in lust with another football player in the past and his dad believes that he's only unit for the guys. Fortunately Mikey is great at his job and becomes Tiller's live-in dietician/chef.The romance proceeds from there in a realistic and warm manner. I loved the humour between the guys and even elements of the Coach's threats were believable. I loved this story throughout, lots of warm feels and great fun too.

Lovely couple...shame about one of the families 🤬🤬🤬
4.25 stars from me. Loved Tiller and Mikey, absolutely hated Mikey's family especially his dad, Coach V. What does it say about you as a father that your son calls you Coach rather than Dad, and that you think it's fair and OK to more or less blackmail your son?Agree with another reviewer here on Goodreads that the epilogue sucked. I'm really looking forward to Truman and Sam's story Sweet as Honey, but didn't want the end of this story to finish with Truman's POV, and yes, he absolutely needs to do something about what really happened.
