So, I bought this tarp for camping purposes but found it way too heavy for quick ups and downs. Started a big outdoor project and spent $$$ on lumber. Had to put the project on hold due to medical issues with a family member. Used this tarp to cover my small fortune in lumber. Just placed concrete blocks around the edges. Over time, I even found myself consolidating scrap lumber on top during smaller projects (sharp edges, random screws, etc.). 2 solid years of rain, sleet, and searing heat. There were a few times water ponded in the low areas for weeks at a time and I even bumped it a few times with the weed eater. Two years later, I pulled the tarp off and A) everything underneath was pristine and B) even though the tarp looked like crap, I hosed it off and now it looks brand new. Best tarp ever!!! Will buy a few more. If you need something quick and lightweight, go with the poly tarps. If you need guaranteed, long-term protection, don't think twice. It'll do the trick.

I rarely write reviews, but this product is worthy. I bought this tarp THREE years ago to cover two kayaks on a dock---see picture. This tarp has been exposed to high temperatures (100+ degrees), hurricane winds (80-100mph gusts) and the salt air environment of living on the Florida coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Not one of the brass grommets has pulled out, and they have not rusted---everything here rusts. The tarp is a little stiffer than when it was new, but it is still very pliable. Other tarps in this environment simply fall apart. This Chicago Canvas Tarp is the best tarp I've ever purchased, and it deserves a great review.

I’m extremely impressed with the thickness & the color of this tarp!! The color matches my gazebo perfectly!! This tarp certainly appears to be extremely heavy duty. Certainly doesn’t seem to rip or tear very easily. Has the holes on the ends to stake it/tie it down. I have the tan colored tarp. I used my tarp as the gazebo flooring for my tent so we do not have to walk on grass inside the tent. Then I covered the tarp with a weatherproof outdoor mat/rug. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but it’s well worth it. Based off the thickness of this tarp, it should last for many many years. Worked out well for the purpose I needed it for.

I used this tarp to cover my pergola. It gives alot of shade. I will let you know how it holds up against rain. Seams very durable and thick. Its definitely vinyl and not a knock off. What i did not like was yellow markings around the grommets and having to wipe off dirt. At first i thought the paint from the brass grommets was running. Then i realize it was markings for the manufacturer to know where the grommets go. They could atleast cleaned those off before packaging. On a white tarp its very noticable. I couldnt get it all off. There is still a yellow tint in those areas. Hopefully the rain will take care of it. And i had to clean off dirt. Clean your product before you package it! Its not that hard!

This is a very heavy duty tarp. It is also just really heavy. I have gone through to many poly tarps so I finally decided to bite the bullet. I think many will write off a vinyl tarp for money reasons but if you need something covered long term or you know there will be a lot of wind and rain just buy it. I will probably save money on the long run. This tarp looks, feels, and performs at a totally different level than cheap tarps, even the grommets seem higher quality. No complaints here.Update June 2020 - After this tarp being in the weather for a year it has held up very well. You can see from the picture attached that there is fading and discoloration from the sun. If this doesn’t bother you then definitely get the tarp it is still in fantastic shape and does it job flawlessly. Far superior to normal poly tarps.

Love the color, love : all id and cards and cash easy to keep track of. With keys is heavy and bites into my neck a little not enough to keep me from wearing, just take off when get home quickly. Good product for good price, did not rate warmth because do not think it needs to keep me warm just keep me from misplacing keys.

This tarp rocks! So far. I’ve had it up for about three months. I had been using the standard ubiquitous cheaper tarps to cover my chicken run. They are great for about a month, then a grommet breaks/rips, shortly after that the entire tarp starts to shred. My last cheap tarp pretty much designated after a hail storm after being out in the sun for only about a month. In the last two weeks it’s been raining hard, the chicken run floor is totally dry, the grommets are solid and haven’t ripped and there is no sign that they might (despite using a lot of tension to keep the tarp taut), there is no sign of weather or sun damage. The stitching around the edges is heavy-duty. This tarp looks like it did the day I bought it, despite being in the elements for 3 months. If you need a tarp that can take a beating, buy this one.
