Had to return the first one as I ordered a large size (based on the chart given) and the tightest setting was still to loose. The medium fits snuggly and he is happy with it. I suppose he is just on the edge of both sizes. It is a sturdy harness and the handle is very handy when meeting other dogs, if he gets over excited.
