We had used Modus ultrasonic, bark control, hand-held devices in the past and were pleased with their performance. So, when a friend was having difficulty training their newest pup not to bark all of the time, I offered to buy this collar for them. The deal was that they would keep the collar and pay me back if the collar worked for them. Otherwise, I would keep it myself. I ordered the collar, and it arrived very quickly.......much quicker than promised. That was nice.First we tried the collar out on their older dog that had previously been trained to an invisible fence (so he knew what collar beeping / collar sounds, etc. means). We mainly wanted to see if the barking of the young pup would set of the collar on the older dog. We set the collar in the No-shock mode and placed it on him (not wanting to shock him in case the collar mistakenly reacted to the young dog's bark). The collar never mistakenly signaled when the young dog barked. It only signaled when the older dog barked. Of course he immediately stopped due to previous invisible fence training.We then placed the collar on the younger pup and set it for mild correction. It only took a few rounds of barking for him to make the connection between bark and correction. Soon after that, he was virtually bark-free. However, I made sure my friend understood that he would have to have the collar on the pup consistently for months. Consistency is the key. Using the collar in a consistent manner would allow him to train the pup when it is appropriate to bark and when it is not. So far, so good with the training.PROS:- Worked on older, more trained dog and also on a frequently barking pup.- Easy & convenient to use.- Like the rechargeable battery (used to hate changing out batteries on old invisible fence collars)- Solid and looks like it will be a durable unit.- Charge seems to last for days, but truthfully, I don't think we have run it down completely. My friend charges it every couple of days or so. I imagine using shock mode wears the battery down more quickly.- Shock / No-shock options are nice, particularly for dogs that don't need shock correction or simply need a light correction.CONS:None in particular. The electronics seemed slightly bulky at first (I was used to extremely small invisible fence collars), but the pups did not seem to mind the size and it really was not an issue. The collar tucks nicely against the neck.

This item says it is for puppies. Don't be fooled. It barely works for my 8 week old pit bull puppy. The price draws you in,but don't do it. The shock isn't enough to stop the barking. Spend more money, and get something worthwhile.

The dog would bark for hours without stopping. I gave it to a neighbor. They seem to forget to charge the device.

I bought this because it worked so well on my next door neighbors great Dane. She barks a lot when they are at work and this controls this perfectly and she send as happy as usual only quiet. On my dog, a Russel Chihuahua mix it didn't work out so well. She was a rescue dog so we don't know her back round and that may have a lot to do with our results. It was set on vibrate as out is on our neighbor's dog but it never went off because she never barked. Yes I know your thinking great it worked but not exactly. She moped around with the most pathetic expression on her face and hang dog demeanor to her body. Her tail immediately hung straight down and never made a sound just looked and acted like she was the most unloved animal in the world. So I had to return it and go back to using the squirt bottle when she barks at something she sees or hears outside. As I said before I know this is a great product just not for my dog.

The collar is very reliable and my dog responds well to it! No more barking!

I bought two of these. One for a Great Pyrenees and one for a Doxin. The instructions were kinda easy to follow. I got confused when figuring out how to switch it from vibrate to shocking. The battery life lasts a couple days. Which is alright, but the collar I had before these would stay charged for a week, so I am a little disappointed I have to charge it more often. But it does work. It works really well.Our Great Pyrenees barks louder than a train (exaggeration but you know what I mean). A low, deep and very loud bark. It definitely helped him quit barking at every leaf that fell off the tree.Now our doxin, we just left his on vibrate. That’s all he needs to help his whining. (He’s got major attachment issues) he will whine from the moment we leave until the moment we get back and has even lost his voice from whining so much. So the vibration helped get the point across and he even whines a lot less without the collar.This is awesome for training purposes and breaking bad habits in dogs. I definitely recommend it for younger pups for that reason. But if you’re looking for something more long term, I’d recommend something a little better than this one so you charge it less. Other than that I love it!
