Real Men [DVD]

What is VERY IMPORTANT to try and understand, is a point of view from an area the "you" out there have NEVER took at aim towards!No matter how strange or how weird my insight may be, what I enjoy of "Real Men" is a fact of capturing with excellent and original writing! While BOTH James Belushi and John Ritter (RIP) are supreme and very intelligent actors, the GRAB of this film was through those smart actors following the "outline"of the writing, which gave them both an excellent movie to go and act out!What I myself enjoy greatly from certain films, is the "clever writing" and then the "clever acting" that "carries-out " the written word or strong suggestion!REAL MEN is a great example of very GOOD WRITING, AND GREAT ACTING! Which, for me, turns it to a comedy that I favor "Airplane 1 and 2," The Naked Gun series, and Top Secret for ..... ONE OF CLEVERNESS AND HEALTHY THOUGHT!!That is the reason I enjoy so much of the films from the 1980's - good and up front writing!!! NOT ONLY JUST SPECIAL EFFECTS OR AMAZING STUNTS! None of those actions or stunts are easy, yet the power of word MUST be included as just as able as the muscle of a stuntman! Thus, REAL MEN is a CLEVER COMEDY and it will not leave any viewer of it feeling very dissatisfied!!!!

This is quite possibly the best movie of the 80s. The sad part is that this movie hasn't gotten much love on line. My brother and I originally rented this in a whim on vhs back in the early 90s. We rented out every week thereafter for several years. Finally bought it and he and I have seen it about 6 more times while playing 80s arcade games on the x-arcade, of which, may I add, was an excellent purchase. We just had his kids watch it (13-16), and they found it just as funny. James belushi and John Ritter at their best! We lost John ritter too soon. Don't hesitate to purchase!Best quote "Nick: I've got some good news and some bad news. What do you want first? Bob: the bad news. Nick : the bad news is there's no way out of here alive. Bob: WELL, WHAT'S THE GOOD NEWS?????? Nick : doesn't look like we're going to be here long!

Quick shipping and a good movie to turn your brain off to. I miss movies like this. I recommend this movie to anyone with a sense of humor.

Ritter and Belushi deliver comedic gold! But don't make a big thing out of it.

The humor is a little dated but still funny. John Ritter is still a gem.

Funny! Clever! And better than I remember. Thanks for making this disc available. What do you do when the agent you need comes up dead? Find his wimpy look a like, of course. This movie sports two very funny actors who use their craft to leave you rolling in the aisles. Jim Belushi and John Ritter are at their best in this far out tale of a trip across the country to serve a glass of water to a special guest.

I have been waiting for a widescreen Blu Ray release of this movie for years! A great comedy classic that was a staple on cable in the 80s and 90s, there is no need for a movie review. If you want to see this film again, don't hesitate: the blu ray picture is clear and crisp, no grain whatsoever. They really could have included a commentary, but the fact that it is re released at all is a tribute to the comedic talents of John Ritter and Jim Belushi. Enjoy!

Finally a great John Ritter movie in Blu Ray

I think the other reviewer says it all, and if I tried to add any more I'd be giving too much of the plot away. But this film is a true classic that slipped under the radar. Surreal, funny, slightly bananas and a little bit rude, but who really minds about all that? I own it on video (MUST. REPLACE. WITH. DVD. ASAP) and I still show it to people I care lots about when they are feeling down. It's guaranteed to send the blues packing - all I have to do is shout "CLOWN ATTACK!" to reduce them to giggles.
