These are the only items that work to keep the neighbor's cats from peeing all over my patio doors continually (gross!). Just be sure to remove them / move them aside if barefooted friends or kids are visiting, as people obviously don't look where they are walking and I've had 2 people step on them with bare feet and the spikes will puncture the skin :(

Does not work as described. raccoons and squirrels run right over these. Would not recommend.

We bought the spike strips to put on top of the railing that surrounds our deck in an effort to keep raccoons off. We set up a Ring camera to record what happened during the night. Bottom line: the raccoons didn't care - they walked right over the spikes and helped themselves to the bird feeder. We also were disappointed that there was no double-stick tape to hold the spikes to the railing; we were under the impression that would be included with the strips but there was none. But maybe we were wrong to have expected any in the first place.

I have squirrels who are constantly raiding the open feeder platform on the top of a 4 x 4 wooden post so I installed a 4" schd-20 PVC pipe over top of the post and that fixed the squirrel problem 100% because they can not grip the plastic pipe.However, once I installed the Defender Spikes the squirrels could easily grip the strips and climb/jump right up to the feeder platform. They were quite happy about the whole thing! FAILOver the last six months we also started having nightly raids by a large raccoon who would easily climb the bare PVC pipe and tear/damage the feeder trays out of the platform to get at the seed. I primarily bought the Defender Spikes to thwart the raccoon. After they were installed I watched him more easily, comfortably climb right on them, totally unfazed and undeterred by the spikes, both going up and going down.For my intended purposes the purchase was a total failure. However, the spike strips have an unintended redeeming quality/purpose. They make wonderful and cost-effective stands / standoffs for finishing/painting woodwork projects... so the purchase was far from being a total loss.

First the downsides: My chickens just walk all over these like little dinosaurs that don't care. These don't come with any sort of stakes to hold them in the ground and their rather lightweight. These are sharp enough to keep the cats out of my little spinach patch though. I would not want to sit on them or step on them personally. They are plastic and they have cone shape, hard large spikes and small spikes the largest being about an inch or two. My chickens could care less though. Now I have Black Jersey Giants, and smaller chickens, or little banties or wild birds might not want to tangle with these, but my big chickens step over or on them and just don't care. I have some other spiky plastic strips, and the spikes are about 4 in, and the girls avoid those, so I was hoping these would work but I don't think the spikes are long enough to deter Black Jersey Giants.

This product needed to keep the birds away from our front door. Perfect size & easy to install. Will eliminate a mess at my front entry!

I used these to discourage people from hanging out along my street side garden. I wouldn't mind it if they were just hanging out. But they hang out drinking and eating and leaving all their trash in my garden when they are through! I put these on the corner posts and i don't seem to have as many street side impromptu picnics!
