They seem like nice quality. The plastic is good. However, first time using them on probably the 15th cast with a 4oz pyramid weight, the weight flew off into the sunset along with the metal clip. Seems like a poor metal clip design? Unsure how it happened other than somehow the metal clip opened or failed and my weight flew off. Otherwise they seem good for the price, this only happened once, so hopefully was not a common issue.

I just received these and noticed that there is a sharp edge on the end of the metal clip, the part you push to open/close it. In my attached image you can see that simply moving it can reach the part where the line goes...If you can imagine 3-4 ounces of weight attached to this and having that rub a sharp edge against your line, ..well I can see how some folks have suddenly watched the gear disappear upon casting. I think before using these I'll either have to file down the tips of the metal clip to make them smooth, or else return these and order something that doesn't have the same risk. These probably work fine much of the time, but personally I would need to file the tips smooth before I'd use them.

These are nice quality and work well, even on braided line. The only thing is that they really big, more like deep sea size but I still use them for canal fishing. Next time I'll look for a smaller size.

Make sure you check them about half of my order had sharp edges that would definitely damage my line others did even have the hole for the line!!!
