The Seed

The whole aspect of the book
I must say the book was amazing. When I read it to year 1 children they could talk about how they had felt through the lockdown. It opened lots of discussion in our classroom. The illustrations are so colourful and powerful, putting across the reason around this book. The author and illustator have worked well on putting the lockdown across to children.

Just lovely
A really lovely book and a beautiful gift or memento for the year we've all had together. It sparked lots of important conversations with my children around lockdown, heroes, how people helped each other out, food banks and green spaces. Just lovely.

Perfect book!
This book has been written wonderfully and describes the way the world has been the past year perfectly. Explaining what has been going on to children has in my mind been quite difficult especially for the younger ones but 'the seed' explains it so well in a way that children can understand. Well done again Frances 5 stars!!

Excellent
Another beautiful book by Frances Stickley. A quietly positive view on how we lived during the pandemic. It's also a really important message that even during difficult times, we need to look after one another.

A book about kindness and hope.
This is a such a lovely way to document the small acts of kindness that emerged during the global pandemic. My children love this story and have enjoyed reading it virtually to grandparents who weren't able to be there for Storytime in person due to restrictions. Highly recommend.

Terrible
While most people's lives were turned upside down in the past year, it appears this authors experience was fluffy clouds and rainbows. I thought I was reading a joke book when it spoke of how wonderful the world got over the pandemic. I have never witnessed such division in my life during that period. Lying to children is why we now have a weak generation becoming adults. Sadly, this is the exact type of drivel they read to children in schools.
