This set is wonderful. Make sure you get both of these while they're on sale and I've heard that this set will be discontinued pretty soon. So make sure you get them now. The plane set is actually really really nice. A lot bigger than the box shows.I have built quite a few Lego sets in the past three months including bigget sets like Loop Coaster. While those just take longer due to total pieces, this one had a few parts that were pretty difficult to assemble. Took me a while to get the pieces in. It was actually the first time I felt frustrated while building any Lego set.Nevertheless, very worth the price.

I purchased this before having a total hip replacement, so my 5 year old son and I could do something together during my healing. Needless to say, we have been working on it for 3 weeks. The pieces are too difficult for a 5 yr old (hence 8+ age rating) but are also difficult for me to fit together at times. 2/3 done so far and will update review once we finish. But this is DEFINITELY worth the money if you plan to have father / son bonding time.

I was not sure the 7 year old boy who received this gift would want to put all the small pieces together. He did it, and he was fascinated by all the moving parts. After assembling it, he contacted us to show us all the moving parts and how each part made another part move. Even his parents were surprised how much the gears and other moving parts interested him. His father said he studied each part closely because the entire kit really interested him. On the underside of the boat, you can see how all the pieces work together. He said this was his best gift ever!

My almost 7 year old grandson got this for Christmas and he had it almost put together in a day. He only needed help in getting some of the tight pieces to fit where they were supposed to go as it took a lot of pressure to get them in. He figured out the gearing system and got it up and running without any help, just by following the instructions that came with it. He really is a whiz with legos and he loves them.

Our son earned this set as a prize for working hard towards a particular goal. He is 7.5 and LOVES it! He said it is his favorite Lego set ever! (Note, dad helped him build).How it moves is awesome! And the fact that you can also do a plane is cool - we just haven’t done it yet. Overall, high remarks from us! (He specifically requested we go leave a review bc we always read reviews before buying and he wanted to add his voice of praise) :)

We have 4 kids and all of them love legos, except for the baby who is too young. This set is awesome! They fight over who gets to play with it. Highly recommend!
