makes a great curtain for my indoor mini pickleball court
We have purchase many of these in the past and used them for their intended purposes - outdoor shade cloths - and have been happy with them. When we decided to try and put a mini pickleball court in our pole barn, we needed something to separate the court area from all the stuff in the rest of the pole barn. We tried several things and nothing worked. We had some shade cloths that weren't being used, so we decided to give them a try. We ran a small cable from one end of the pole barn to the other, attached cheap shower curtain rings to the cable, and thru the grommets. The curtains slide easily over the cables. We can open the "curtains" to access everything and close them when we want to play. The weight lets them hang nicely and deflect any errant balls. The 40% shading lets in enough light from the windows and garage door to be able to see how to play (with the lights turned on.) So we bought 6 more (at a great price) to finish the screening. We are very happy with this product for our unconventional use.

Working well
I strung the shade cloth over part of my vegetable garden. The grommets are holding well after a few windy days. It has been up for a month, or so, and no complaints. I will buy more.

What a difference it made in the summer
I have an apartment on an upper floor that faces west. It's summer in Texas and my balcony is unusable. After several years I finally decided to take action this time. I bought a perfectly sized sailcloth to cover the railing in a shade that closely matches the color of the stucco. That way it doesn't stand out so much that my apartment management will force me to take it down. But because that only covered the lower 3 ft of the balcony I needed something to take care of the upper half. This shade cloth worked great and lowered the temperature in my apartment in 100+ degree heat.1) Has so far withstood thunderstorms in Texas with 20 mph gusts. The top edge is held on with cup hooks and the lower half with bungee cords. So far have not had any eyes come loose.2) The sheet was slightly out of square in one corner. But this was minor. The rest of the sheet stretches so it made little difference.3) It reduces light significantly but you can still sort of "see through" it. Call it 50% less sun, but you can see about half of what's going on past it.It is not perfect, but for what I needed it has surpassed expectations and for a very reasonable cost. I expect this to last too even using it throughout the year. Very happy with this purchase.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT PRODUCT TO PROTECT OUR GARDEN
A good number of grommets > Easy to install on frame of 2x4's my husband built. The 40% was a good serendipity when I read 95% on the first one I almost bought and said said whoa! Just the right amount of shade for protection yet allowing for healthy growth! Easy to to lower if we have a chain of less sunny days. Seems to have potential to lessen rain beating on plants in a downpour by spreading out to a dripping and pouring off sides. Have a tarp ready if weather really changes as MT weather can! Seems durable but only a couple of weeks service so far PS JUST BUYING A SECOND CLOTH! Granddaughter’s garden was expanded this year and just purchased a twin shade cloth! MEANWHILE the ORIGINAL CLOTH stayed up in varied weather including hail through October. We folded and got it out this week for a second summer and it seriously looks like it’s brand new! EXCELLENT product!

Holds up in wind and does the job of shading
I have some of these panels up around my deck to block the sun yet allow me to see through it. This is my 4th summer and it has held up well. A couple of the grommets are tearing out, but with the occasional high winds we get I'm not all that disappointed. So we get temps in the 100s in summer and my raised garden suffers a lot from the heat and usually stop producing until it cools off. This year I bought this shade cloth and some 1/2' pipe and pvc pipe clamps (they are white pvc about 4" long) that I purchased on Amazon. I bent the pipes from corner to opposit corner (2 per box) and tied them together in the center with zip ties. Then spread the shade cloth over them and fastened to the pipe with the clamps. In a week my plants perked up and started blooming again. I clamped the cloth about 18" from the bottom (top of the box) to allow bees to get into the plants to pollinate. It's been a little over a week and my plants are setting squash, zucchini, and beans again. They like the 40% sun blockage. I did remove it for a few days because a big wind storm had everything scrambled up. I found clamps everywhere and pipes off the boxes. Not surprised, but the cloth is just fine. In a couple of days I will put it all back up again. I'm thinking I need to drive 2' lengths of rebar into the corners of the boxes to put the pipe on rather than just pushing the pipe into the soil. MIght be more sturdy.

Absolute life saver! For plants and other critters!
In persistent temps of above 95F, these tarps saved my plants for sure. Unfortunately, heat and I don't mix well so I literally ran outside, threw the tarps over the plants like you would throw a blanket over furniture, and ran back inside lol! And it still worked great. It didn't really seem to bother the plants, no branches broke, etc. What's cool is the ecosystem the shade covers created!! When I lifted the shade covers to check on the plants, I saw sooo many lizards, lady bugs, ants, etc. just hiding out in the shade. I didn't even think to how the shade impacts other life as well. The temps have cooled down some and I've removed them, and my plants are really now thriving. It's like they really hit the ground running into these lower temps, I've got a ton of new growth and blooms coming along.I think next year I'll buy one more, and use some bendable pipes to create a dome just so I don't look so ridiculous having a tarp haphazardly drapped over my plants haha. But it worked!
