Plays Prog Rock Classics

Good tribute to prog rock but not necessarily a must-have
There are no vocals, which is probably good considering how great some of the original singers are. The music itself is excellent, and I don't regret spending $8.99 on the MP3s. I can't see myself playing this often, though, although it is very enjoyable.

Five Stars
Very nice collection of songs performed by an orchestra in the classical style. Downloaded mp3 versions. Great album.

Keep calm and Royal Rock on......
As one who grew up in this age it is just great to hear them done in a different vein. One could be disappointed that there are no vocals but folks get a voice in there head and want to hear that voice which maybe be alive or years have changed it.As once said on an Album cover....Let the music speak for itself.....

This is how to NOT do it
Symphony orchestra instruments are great. Symphony orchestra is the best line-up in the field of music. However, if you want to play rock, play it with rock instruments, or at least try NOT to sound like a rock band, if you're not using rock instruments. There's enough of power in classical symphony orchestra, but it is not the power of a rock band, and on this CD, they have tried to equal the power of prog rock sound with the symphony orchestra. Sadly it doesn't work - with acoustic instruments you have to sound like an acoustic orchestra. A drum set beat with a symphony orchestra is the first step to dullness, and on this Cd, here it comes very quickly.Prog is not pretentius, but sadly this record sounds just that - pretentious. Steer clear.

Good versions of classic Prog
Good overall versions of classic Prog tracks. Particularly like the GG track which shows off how transferable their music is to the classical arrangement. Nice album to use if trying to introduce others to Prog, as it's more accessible to those who are new to listening to the genre. The whole presentation shows how Prog and classical are very similar in their complex nature and I can listen to either in equal measures. However, as a child of the 70s there is no substitute for the original really! Worth the money but not mind blowing .

Chill out to prog
Superb adaptations of some of the classic prog tunes, especially like the versions of Roundabout and 20th century schizoid man. Even non-profit lovers seem to enjoy it!!!!

Album ricercato e ricco!
Album di grande spessore musicale... alcuni pezzi possono sembrare sotto tono rispetto agli originali, ma ad un ascolto più profondo risultano solo essere più delicate, proprio perché hanno un'orchestra dietro.Spettacolare!

A must for prog music fans
I purchased it only because Gavin Harrison was playing on one of the numbers, but it's very good overall. A must for the serious prog music fan.
