This is a deal you cannot beat.
Recently I got a warning light on the dash on my BMW 118i so decided to go ahead and do bought this topdon ad800bt.It looks decent and seems better than some of other ones I’ve seen. The well-made carrying case is a charmer, adds value and protection. Inside of it,there comes with an instruction and the nicely-made scanner which sits nicely in it.What’s cool is as soon as the tablet comes on, The Bluetooth dongle will pair very quickly to the tablet, all by itself, And I a loud buzzer on the tablet word just buzz and then you can see the blue light just came on the dongle that means it’s paired.Well it’s a kind of a small screen but present quality results being quick and straightforward to read. Also it took a while to do autoscan on my BMW, It did end up telling how many modules we are present and any faults or problems within each of those modules.Actually it was not just going to scan a few of P type codes like some cheap scanners did, but get the dealer specific codes - with BMW it is a must! I finally got the right code to find the correct fault instead of running around like a headless chicken.Another feature I like is its full live view of all the data that can be monitored in vehicle’s ECU modules. This is actually one of the reasons why I bought the scanner as opposed to the old handheld autel scanner I had before. The old one didn’t show all the live data I wanted to check. Well, this topdon ad800bt shows that. And the data can also be merged to be much easier to notify a problem as soon as they develop all together. The tool got all the other things that is beneficial for the car: the oil reset, the electronic parking brake, tire pressure monitoring, battery system registration, brake bleed, etc., a lot more than some other tools of the same price range, and super intuitive to operate, update and set up.I know it seems expensive for us more tablet like this, but where you are going to be paying 50 bucks and 50 bucks and another 50 bucks again for all those cheap scan tools, it all adds up where you could have bought something decent like this. You will be able to scan every single manufacturer car and have the right specific codes all the time, which means, it’s going to help save a lot of money in the long run.

Quality Car Scanner
I am a professional mechanic who does a lot of work on the side at home as well. I have a smaller cheaper code reader that just reads and deletes codes, but I knew I needed a higher quality scanner. This scanner is a great value and works really well. My shop has a snap on scanner that was around 10 grand and an Autel scanner also, this scanner works just as well as them in a lot of ways and I have used at my shop also. It is clear and easy to use. Live data works well, it is a little hard to figure out how to access the bidirectional control, but it works. Also the battery life on this scanner is excellent. Way better than my shops scanners. Charges fast and holds the charge a long time. The only thing I don't like is that the scanner really works best when it has Wifi signal. This is nice when at home or at the shop, but once you are out of range of wifi, it loses features and has a difficult time connecting to vehicles. This may not be an issue for most people, but having to do test drives or working on a car at someone elses house means you may not always have wifi. Again its overall a good scanner and a great value, you can spend thousands on the name brand professional ones and still have it do less than this scanner.

For the advance DIY auto tech
This is not so much a review of the ArtiDiag800BT, but rather why I bought on. I consider myself an advanced do-it-yourselfer and his looked like the next best step up from what I was using in OBD2 scanners. I had recently purchased the basic TOPDON TopScan OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth, Bi-Directional Scanner and I liked it. As a bluetooth scanner, it out performed my other OBD2 scanners. So when I decided to make the next step up, I picked the ArtiDiag800BT scan tool. I suggest checking out the Topdon website for all the features and then return here to make you best deal. Good auto repairs to all.

Great value for advanced DIY
This is a great, compact scanner capable of scanning almost everything (still not secured gateways, but all scanners need a pass to do that). While it doesn't do bidirectional controls, the hot functions are pretty handy for quick jobs like opening rear calipers or a battery registration. While it's a little slow communicating with earlier cars (I did see someone complain it wouldn't vin scan a 2002 Dodge, yeah no, too old), newer cars around 2006 and up "should" have the vin scan work. I mostly use it with Global OBD data and the graphing function. Oh and the data list and graphing screen are just like Topdon's top tier scanners with pinch to zoom graphs. For a pretty serious DIY who doesn't need bidirectional control, this is a great scanner at a really good price. I have a couple other Topdon products and am pleased with the quality and receptiveness to updates and bug fixes (all manufactures have them).A couple things to point out though that I noticed. One is the dongle that plugs into the data link connector is a little tight, so it might take a little bit to get it to wiggle in. But it will beep once connected. Two is memory card space. Only download the updates for the vehicles you will be looking at. Since it's a global use tool, there a LOTS of vehicles that aren't sold here on that list. Particularly if you work on European cars, their software is the largest, so only get those. IT WILL NOT hold ALL of the current updates and the internal memory will fill up. I did notice there were some sd card expansion slots in the back under a cover, but I haven't had time to look into them yet. If they are for expandable memory, it would easily handle every update for every vehicle.I might update this later after I use it longer and have it in my hand to remind me about features I like...
