Easy Arrangers EACHLKBRD Hardboard Chalkboard Placemats - Set Of 2

i bought a warehouse deal on this one, so mine were a bit abused when i got them and didn't come with chalk, but that was ok (because it was a warehouse deal).I got them with the intent of using them as places to set my coffee maker and my banana stand when on the counter, then bought some cheap chalk to go with them. I wasn't sure i liked them until I used the chalk. The chalk goes on easily and well and comes off with little effort. Its a great chalkboard, i am able to stylize my own look for my kitchen and have been using them to write love notes for my husband next to the coffee maker. and now that i know i like them we might be getting more so that my kids can play too. (three kids and two boards isn't a good combination. we will need more).

These are great. However, if you are using them as a placemat, the chalk is going to smudge and get all over hands, arms, and whatever else is on the table. I recommend using a liquid chalk pen, which I happened to have around. I use it as a placemat for myself and I put reminders and notes on it instead of going through tons of post-its.

I just received my placemats and do not believe what other reviewers have said about using liquid chalk! This will leave a residue that you cannot remove. I bought 4 total and after playing with the liquid chalk (which I bought based on the other reviews) I have now ruined two of them. Only use regular chalk with these mats!!

Immediately need to return it since it arrived with the wrapper removed (but thrown into the shipping box), used and none of the chalk with it as the description indicates. I would give it more stars for quality of product, but buyer beware of who your getting it from. Mine was from Annabelle Noel Designs.

These mats help make dinner time SO FUN! Children can draw pictures, play games, practice letters, or work math problems.

Love them!!! Just wish they were thicker.
