Are You Ready for a True Hard Rock Experience?
Look no further. Gozu Locust Season will rock you from start to finish, except for the hidden track. It's not rock at all but the hidden track isn't Gozu. This album is one of smallstones better releases this year. The production is amazing. This is rock n roll in every sense of the term. This one should keep you movin n groovin with it's rock power groove jams. Locust Season is chalk full of hearty catchy riffs and hooks for days. The vocals work perfectly with the bands sound. Everything comes together with these guys. I think they call it chemistry. Whatever you call it, Gozu is loaded with it. Everything in this record stands out in a positive light. The background vocals and occasional humming with hooks are even catchy as hell. Lovers of rock... Buy Gozu, some brews and have a blast with one of smallstones best. Fans of Sasquatch, and early QOTSA should, at all costs, buy this! Enjoy.

Locust Season by Gozu Delivers
CD was released 27 July 2010Gozu is:Marc Gaffney...Vocals & GuitarJay Cannava...BassBarry Spillberg...DrumsDoug Sherman...GuitarI read..."Gozu first appeared on the scene in 2008 with the the release of their seven track EP. Consisting of members of bands such as Wargasm and Triphammer, Gozu laid down the rock but also brought the groove on songs such as the human-empowerment anthem "Rise Up" and D.A.R.E.-baiting "Meth Cowboy". Fronted by the man with a plan, Marc Gaffney, aka Gaff, who has the pipes Chris Cornell used to possess before he started modeling men's cologne, Gozu plays the sort of rock tailor made to be blasted out on radio airwaves nationwide, ala early Queens of the Stone Age. It's the kind of rock music that pulls up alongside you while you're walking down the street minding your own business, demands that you "get in the f@*ing car", proceeds to drive 90 mph down the wrong side of the highway, and then drops you off miles from home at some abandoned rest stop."These guys have been riding under my radar for some time. Their musical style can be best categorized as a hybrid of groove stoner/blues rock, bass line grunge and furious heavy metal. Vocalist Marc Gaffney has a unique ability to sound both familiar and totally distinguishable delivering catchy melodies that are deeply rooted in raunchy, bluesy swagger and ballsy metal singing. This band rocks it out big time.I read.."Locust Season" is a stoner rock album for those who are not really keen on the genre. Given that this is truly the most mesmerizing release of this kind in quite a long time, it's a mandatory listen for every ardent rock music fan."I totally agree. This band reeks of swagger and grime but in a good way. LOCUST SEASON is a must-have album for anyone who enjoys the likes of Fu Manchu, Dixie Witch, or early Clutch. This Massachusetts quartet describe their sound as "GAAHL meets Hellhammer meets Clutch". I can dig it. Highly recommended.

A killer debut from a criminally overlooked band. ANY fan of heavy music will enjoy this. It's sad that pop reigns in today's music culture and bands like Gozu get no attention.
