Very solid and competent pickup
I paired this with a Seymour Duncan "Jerry Donahue" bridge pickup and a four way switch. Both are medium output and are perfectly matched. This pickup is very middle of the road, not particularly twangy nor fat but it has a very solid rhythm sound and low noise. It isn't a "trick" pickup with unusual sound, it is simply a workhorse pickup that has an even tone and is very easy to work with. I don't want to say "generic", but in a way, it is the generic Tele neck pickup sound, only clearer and smoother. That is exactly what I wanted. To use the four way, I had to break the ground off the case, which is very easy to do with this pickup, took 1 second with a soldering iron, and I had a simple point to solder to for both grounds, making the wiring very easy.

Nice tele neck pickup
I swapped this in for a made-in-Indonesia Squier telecaster. Sounds great. The pickup comes with two screws and two rubber spacers for installation into the body. Mine had holes in the pickguard for attaching the pickup into the pickguard. I reused the screws and springs from the OEM pickup, reamed out the holes in the seymour duncan pickup just enough so that the old screws could fit into the base plate, but not too big where they wouldn't work. I pressed the screwdriver on the screw and into the hole so that it would act like a die and I screwed the machine screw into the base plate. That worked. The other option would have been to install the pickup into the body and get a new pickguard that doesn't have pickup holes.

Fantastic Product!
This pickup shipped pretty swiftly, was easy to put in and sounds amazing. It has great tone and each string can be heard when playing. It's a great pickup for a telecaster style guitar!

Good moderate output classic Tele neck pickup
Got this and the APTL-1 to replace the stock pickups in a '98 Mexican Tele Standard and have been generally pleased w/ this neck pickup. I was going for a classic Tele warmth and fatness w/ a bit of an edge to it when cranked out of the neck pickup for a relatively wide variety of musical styles (old school hardcore to indie rock to ambient to jazzy/bluesy kinds of stuff). While the tone seems spot on w/ great clarity, the output level seems noticeably lower than the APTR-1. I've raised this pickup a couple of threads at a time a few times in an effort to get a bit better balance in volume when switching between neck and bridge and w/ the selector in middle position but still the same. There's still a bit of room left so I'll probably just wind up maxing the height on it the next time I mess w/ it. All in all I'm very happy w/ this pickup however.
