Cute but expensive and over-hyped
I just received my fully assembled Petoi Bittle from Amazon, yesterday.I am very-very disappointed!1.) For starters the right rear hip servo is dead. “DOA"(Yes, I know that it includes an extra one in the with extra parts…but for a $360.00 price tagI should not have to fool with it!!!)2.) There is no easy way to buy spare parts… ie.: extra batteries, servo’s, broken part replacement. No3D print files for parts?3.) The dog head is a worthless piece of junk… poor mounting… hard to install… pops off… poorly designed… etc.!!!4.) Poor calibration software… difficult to use… very much unlike my “FreeNove" robo dog calibration app.5.) No WiFi or BlueTooth included for such a high price tag?6.) Poorly designed battery, hard to connect charger cable, the on/off button should be on the dog not the battery.7.) All the LED's are hidden from view beneath the black lid?????7.) The NyBoard is poorly designed… cheap-crappy… unintuitive… hard to work with…8.) It uses of a lot of “proprietary” parts for which they offer no easy replacement?9.) Also, I question the effectiveness of those super-duper leg springs? Very stiff, I can't get them to move and they are very stiff? I don't see the point? (good for a Semi-tractor trailer??? or good for nothing???)10.) The "Open-Cat" software is cool... but the "$$$$BUCK" stops there?" Even though this dog is "open-source" the hardware is not!11.) The NyBoard is the ultimate (sic) in "cheap-minimal" example of circuit board manufacturing I've ever seen! Thin-Flimsy, very low quality... absolute minimum copper, as compared to similar products? ie.: Raspberry Pi connections... just holes on the NyBoard.... you have to solder in your own connector pins... (Good Luck!)And because the board is so "fragile" you might need a "micro" soldering iron to do so!I cannot recommend this “over-hyped-junky” product to anyone!
