DEKIRU NIHONGO BEGINNER 2 - TEXTBOOK + 3CDs (UPPER BEGINNER TO LOWER INTERMEDIATE)

I've been studying Japanese part time for a few years now and began using Dekiru Nihongo on the recommendation of my tutor who is also a Japanese language instructor at the community college level. Having previously used "Japanese for Busy People" in formal classes and Genki 1 and 2 through a private tutor with Genki 1 and 2, I found both of those textbooks lacking. Unlike "Busy People" which focuses on learning Japanese from a business perspective, and Genki which focuses on university level students, Dekiru Nihongo focuses on everyday situations like reading signage or giving directions. It does this through two-way conversation exercises that use fun illustrations. The textbook is presented almost entirely in Japanese (Kanji with very tiny furigana) so it forces kana reading (in a positive way). There are a few negatives. The furigana is VERY tiny and difficult to read. Vocabulary words are not defined so you will have to look them up in your native language. Finally, I don't think this would be a good textbook for self-study since the exercises are conversation-based and you really need feedback from an instructor/tutor to know if you're saying things correctly. If Genki leaves you lacking, give Dekiru Nihongo a try.

DVDが、一部口が切れていましたが、使用してなかったようです。いまは、音声ダウンロードもあるので、全く問題ありません。

教える側からするとみんなの日本語よりも力が身につくかと思います。ただ、使うのは難しいようです。

発送も早く、商品も予想以上にきれいでした。大変満足です。
