I purchased this for a child. I was worried the whistle would be too loud but it is a good volume. The round case is super cute and the kids enjoy playing with the whistle.

I got it as a gag gift for a buddy of mine retiring from thirty years of railroad carman work. I wasn't able to go to his party since I work RR and we only get time off if we put in for it one year in advance, are hurt, retire or die but apparently this whistle was the star of the party.
