Gravity: Mageri Series, Book 4

Well, that was one way to put it.Created.Not conceived the way normal people were. Yep, that's me: mutant extraordinaire.Having only recently started this series, I devoured all four book in five days...what a journey & it's not even finished! I think this book was probably the most emotional of the lot so far. Silver was forced to make some pretty tough choices that tore her apart, but were necessary at the time...at least she believes them to be. We lose someone during the course of this book that hit me a little harder than I would have guessed. All you Silver/Logan fans out there (I admittedly am not one of them, sorry, please don't kill me) will be put through the ringer. You will love some parts of this book, hate others, then do a little happy dance. I think I will just have to suck it up& deal with the fact that these two will be together. I will admit that their love for each other shows more clearly in this book than previously, it still doesn't sit right with me personally....please don't send out the lynch mob, this is just my lonely opinion (I do have my reasons, which I laid out in my Impulse review, so I won't rehash them). One character that continues to grow on me is Christian. I really have come to love that snarky bastard, but as this book winds down I'm left wondering what will happen next with him. He has proven to be loyal, protective, funny as hell, there is just something undeniably sexy & mysterious about him. And did I mention funny?!?"Better talk or I'll introduce you to my two best friends," he said harshly, holding up his fists. "Meet thunder and lightning. If you don't start talking, it's going to storm all over your face.""Your fella was a real joy to travel with. I thought you were a barrel of monkeys, but that one is the whole fecking zoo."We get to know Silver's relic as she develops into something I never expected.Simon is Simon, he will always hold a special place in my heart, but sadly he is absent for most of this book, as is Adam :(Justus & Silver's relationship continues to pull at my heartstrings. And though I think I always harbored some hope that they would end up together, it has become quite clear that isn't going to happen, but I still love where they are. They have come a long way.He would always be Ghuardian in my eyes.A man who had mentored me, taught me the laws to live by, and showed me a stranger could influence my life in ways I'd never imagined. A man who'd opened his home and his heart to an obstinate young Mage with no family of her own.And of course there's Finn, I am so proud of where he is going. I may not love Silver & Logan as a couple, but I do still love him & his brothers Lol. The villains move to a whole new realm of crazy & nightmarish in this one. Seriously, I spent sooo much time on the edge of my seat biting my nails, just terrifying. My favorite part of these books has become the closing chapter. It always comes to an end with the most incredibly sweet scenes between Silver & Justus. I'm left clutching my heart with a big stupid grin on my face.Now that I'm finished binge reading this series, I'm seeing the error of my ways as I'm left waiting for the last book!! I really have to know how it all ends LIKE NOW, total book hangover, when does the next book come out?!??!

***contains spoilers***I nearly gave this book a 3* rating but decided I still enjoyed silvers journey too much to degrade it like that. However, if book five drops in standard like Gravity did from book 3.... *shudders*I don't understand why writers go from one persons POV to two then three then four. It's ridiculous, I was quite content just knowing silvers mind, and then all of a sudden, WHAM- I'm seeing knoxs view, Adam's, Page's and Justus's, yet the one other main character that I WANTED to see the story unfold form was Logans, but not a peep from his end.I never cared for the whole Knox/Sunny saga, it's too random and irrelevant atm, perhaps later it will mean something, but I could still have understood their relationship coming from Silvers POV. I didn't even flinch when Knox died, and then when Sunny announces her pregnancy- meh. Make it a Novella. In fact make Justus and Page's journey a Novella and get them out of the way of Silver and Logans story. I was getting settled in for Silvers journey and then at every turning point I'm being distracted by Page and Justus's love/issues. This really split the flow of the story, and made too many story arcs and issues for one book- it's messy.Tonnes of other things didn't fit for me in this book:-Christian needs to be fired, he's never there when he needs to be and is always being taken out, he's more a nanny and chauffeur than a body guard.-Why do they go to the store to rent movies when with the huge level of technology in the house they can buy downloads? Simon would be onto this.-Why would Grady's mind have been erased but the locations of the labs be left there? that's sloppyLogan says he's never had oral sex form a woman before but in the last book Silver started it.-Why does Silver scream at a car being backed over her when it's going so slow it would bump her and stop like a car hitting a curb.-Justus all of a sudden is a bit speech maker- totally out of character-Why did the Human cop go out of the house if he knew Breed and his house is impenetrable (as Tarek says it is)-Silver knew that she was going to visit the overlord, so why didn't she dress appropriately, rather then feeling a little undignified.-The overlord states he can smell the truth above any person in the room, yet another Chitah steps forward and 'confirms' she's telling the truth as He seems unable to believe it.-Logans smell is describes as Wild and dangerous and then in the next sentence as subtle. wtf? also in that same chapter Silver pretends to be asleep to eavesdrop, yet the Chitas would have been able to scent her reactions and know she was awake.AND Unfortunately we've hit YA status with this book, with terms like 'badass' being dropped by a Mage who was nearing 30yo at her creation. I don't think so.I really really really hope that Dannika Dark moves all the side POVs going on in book to Novellas, they would be interesting enough in their own right to make up their own stories, but they are severely detracting the enjoyment from Silvers story, it is stops me being able to really sink into her books like I had been able to in the last few.

Where do I start with this book? Well ok a quote first; this quote pretty much sums up the book for me."Sometimes we guard people from the truth to protect them from being hurt, but by doing that we only hurt them more in the long run."Then I will go on to say "Finally" and fans of Silver and Logan will know what I mean by that.For me we finally see Silver grow up in this book she frustrated me at times and I wanted to hurt her bad for what she does but I totally got why she had to do it. She made me cry at one point when she confesses her love and I could have kissed her at that point. And like Sunny told her "Hold on to him for as long as you can. Cherish every moment".Or I might just steal him away from her myself.If i could fall in love with a character any more than I was already I did more with Logan. He has always proved himself to Silver to me even if she couldn¡¦t see it. But Logan never gave up no matter how hurt he was he always knew Silver was his and told her he would always wait for her and that's exactly what he does. We do have a sort of Samson and Delilah moment but it was done for Love and I love the new Logan.If you hated Tarek in Impulse believe me you will loath him more in this book words cannot express how much I hate this character in fact I think he is the worst baddie I have read about this year. But got a feeling Nero might outshine him in the next book.After reading Impulse I had a feeling something was going to happen for Justus and it does but the poor fellow just can't catch a break but it was so good to see him let himself go a bit show a side to him that he doesn't show often. One of my favorite quotes from Silver to Justus shows me just how much she has grown and I really hope Justus takes it to heart and fights for what he wants I will have my fingers crossed for him."Don't give up,I said.Logan never did. He once said something like "anything worth having is worth chasing. If you really care for her, then you'll wait. Prove to her you're the man that I know you are. Show her."I have to say I loved the Overlord and I hope we see more of him in the next book.I'm not going to say much about Sunny and Knox as you will have to read to find out what happens there all I will say is Knox is a very noble man.Once again Dannika leaves us with a Justus and Silver moment and it's a lovely one these two have a very close bond in a family way and I hope they will always have that.We do get some questions from Impulse answered but yet again we are left with more and my head is full of them coming up with my own answers but only the next book can answer them for me so hurry up Dannika I need that book..lolThis series truly keeps getting better and better the characters are part of me now and will for a long time to come. Gravity has become one of my top reads for 2013 words cannot express how much I loved this book.

After reading the first three novels I read this the fourth straight away, this novel I enjoyed the most. Logan is even more lovable, Justus shows a more caring side to his nature. The laugh out loud moments are there too, this time though I was reaching for the tissue box. Silver is faced with some difficult truths that have to be dealt with, in coming to terms with her love for Logan in order to save him she has to let him go and her family too, all difficult choices. In doing this she has to give herself to the offensive Tarek. The story line and new characters make this as enjoyable and engaging as the rest of the series.Silver and Christian uncover many secrets on the creation of suitable children to turn into Mages only to have evidence stolen, Nero's reach and contacts are far larger than first thought. Whilst attempting to save Logan she meets the Overlord to ask for his understanding in the hope of his life being spared. As Page her Relic does research it comes to light how rare Silver's gifts are, the time has come to confess to Logan and to her Ghaurdian regarding Logan.....this author has created a unique take on paranormal romance.

Wow I have read this book twice now and I could read it again...it was so amazingly good.I am a big fan of the Mageri series and recommend them to all my friends and work mates and without surprise, they love them as much as I do!The setting is described enough that you can picture each scene in the book without being overwhelmed with descriptive words and you lose interest. The books focus on is the characters and their individuality and cracking dialogue.Dannika creates characters that you can imagine grow to either love them or despise them as is meant to be. The books play like a film in my head.Silver who is the main protagonist likable, feisty, caring and still unsure of herself which makes her vulnerable especially in this book where she is in a situation that she has no control over. Christian in this book was my hero, the way he he went beyond body guard duties was just so heroic and made me feel a little weak reading his parts- exceptionally yummy vampire. I would love to hear more stories about him.Logan was heartrendingly gorgeous in this book his lines filled with love for silver were far from cheesy but totally sexy and beautiful- there are no cliches in this book- Its so fresh and different. There were scenes of his in the book where tears were streaming down my face. Dannika's characters are so real when they are talking its like you are living it with them so I feel the emotions they do - which is all down to the superb writing style.There was not a lot of Simon in this book who is my favorite character but it was right within the story. Silver missed him too! You get to meet the Logan brothers more- love Levi. Also a bit more of Remi who is a very intriguing mysterious character.You can tell Dannika Dark reads lots of books and love stories and has created a series for paranormal romance fans in mind with so much passion and love that it spills out of it pages straight to its readers.Cant get across how brilliant this book is I am just ruined now for other books at the moment as cant stop thinking about this book.

I have really enjoyed the series so far and was not disappointed with the latest installment.Silver's story continues with her mysterious beginning to becoming a mage and the answers begin to unfold. We get to see her relationship develop more with Logan and the results of a vendetta against him, having horrible consequences for Silver.What I liked about this book is the way Justus' s own story unfolds in the book and you find yourself rooting for the best outcome. Also, Dark continues to let us into the world of Breed, which for me is something quite unique with all the current fantasy books out there about vampires, werewolves & other such creatures.If you haven't read the other books in the Mageri series then I recommend you download them now so you can read this great book.I cannot wait for thr next book, bring on the end of 2013 :)

Gotta be honest, I feel like I've been through the wringer, that could be partly due to lack of sleep since reading this was much more important but its also due to the book itself. Awesome doesn't really cover it, I laughed, I cried, I cried some more. Without saying too much, I loved the good guys so much more (even when they were being stupid and I wanted to shake them) and hate the bad guys with even more Passion. There were moments my heart was breaking and those that had me raging. You really do feel the emotions right alongside the characters. Another absolutely brilliant book in a fantastic series and I already can't wait for more.
