Get Your "Disco" On With Hed Kandi!
If your perception of disco is tight polyester pants and butterfly collar shirts, then you ought to free your mind and let the grooves of Hed Kandi show you the real deal. If there's one bad thing to say about "Disco Kandi, Volume 5," I can't think of it. Mark Doyle compiles two discs of jams that feature strong beats and wicked grooves of tasteful house. Highlights on Disc One include ATFC's "Sleeptalk," which samples the Donna Summer classic "Bad Girls," Sea Flowers' "Easy Livin'," and the aptly-named "Bring it Down" by Simpson Tune. But what helps "Disco Kandi Volume 5" earn its five stars is the second disc, where things get a bit darker and more underground. Its twin peaks are definitely the club hit "You Can't Change Me" by Roger S. with N'Dea Davenport and the pulsating "The Real Life" by Raven Maize. Of course, a compilation called "Disco Kandi" couldn't be complete without a nod to the old school, so we have an impressive remix of "Love Is In the Air," which, in my opinion, is better than the original. No doubt, this excellent CD is a good reason why the folks at Hed Kandi are among the leading labels in dance music.

Groove on
This is the fifth installment of the DISCO KANDI series. There were 3 released in 2001! Crazy! I have to say this is one of my favorites from that series. Some delicious grooves and great house are spilled over two discs here. Disc one to me is more upbeat than disc two (not a bad thing, but I prefer disc two). Highlights on disc one include "Bring It Down" by Simpson Tune, AFTC feat Lisa Millett "Sleeptalk" and Pahts & Small's "Change". Disc two is a monster! I have to say the highlight for me on disc two, and the whole compilation is Milk & Sugar VS John Paul Young's take of "Love Is In The Air". Fabulous! Other highlights include "You Can't Change Me" by Roger S. with N'Dea Davenport and "The Real Life" by Raven Maize. Not disapointing at all! Check it out!

Kandi Rules!
Hedkandi strikes again! For anyone who is into the disco scene and likes also to hear the full versions of all these fourmidable songs. To top all of this, the songs are in such order on the Kandi discs that you can mix them yourself! It really makes sense to play them in the order they have been put on the discs.Wich program I hear you ask? Atomix does the job more than just satisfactory. Just a few words from a great Headkandi fan, who likes all of the kandi releases. A must have, so you can tell your children later on 'Daddy bought it as soon it came out!'greets,Gert
