Size:6" Diameter Pies (Pack of 2) The Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop on Gibbons Road just outside the village of Bird-in-Hand is well-known for its homemade, old fashioned, wet-bottom shoofly pies. This 6" diameter shoofly pie from the Bake Shop gives about 3-4 servings of this traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dessert. A “wet bottom” shoofly pie has a gooey molasses bottom, cake-like middle and crumb topping. For those of us who have that irresistible sweet tooth, Wet-Bottom Shoofly Pie is a "must have". The shoofly pie is by far the most popular dessert made by the Amish here in Lancaster County! If you are like us, you'll find it's hard to stop with just one slice. Shoofly pies are packed in a white bakery box of heavy cardboard for safe shipping.

Yum!
My Shoo Fly pies arrived today. We I was a teen (many, many years ago) my mother and I loved to visit the Pennsylvania Amish country and having this pie was always part of the trip. I was researching a possible trip to that area with my husband and came across a website that would ship the pie. Then, of course, I checked on Amazon and found it at a more reasonable price with Prime shipping. Boy, does this bring back memories. I lost my mom in 2014 and still miss her to this day. When I dug into this pie it was almost like she was here with me. The only problem I had with this order is that the box is clearly marked “THIS SIDE UP” in bright red letters and arrows. Evidently reading isn’t a skill that is a criteria for hiring FedEx drivers because he left mine on the front porch on its side. So one of the pies had leaked out and was a mess. Fortunately the other one was in perfect condition. That one went into the freezer to be used as a special treat on the dessert leg of a progressive dinner next month. If you love Shoo Fly pie you will not be disappointed with these pies.

I ran across these years ago. They're wonderful, handmade, the crusts to the crumbs! Don't let the ingredients scare U away. Molasses to start, ugh. say most...kinda like cough syrup. Not!This pie is almost a coffee-crumb cake treat. Great w/a hot cup of 'joe'.It has the right, honest ingredients-no chemical stuff-to make it a great pie.I give these as alternatives to the usual Thanksgiving pumpkin and raisin concoctions that are on the table every year. They're high-dollar however, so be careful to give them to the people that like to 'taste' their food. Don't give to 'gulpers' who have no clue what chewing food more than 3X means!Waste of hard work (Amish) and great harvested products...Oh, I'm not Amish...or even close, so I don't get a 'kick-back' on this. LOL.

This Pie was awful!
My background is Pennsylvania Dutch and this pie didn't even come close to what my family use to make! it should have been made with dark molasses and NO corn syrup! plus the pies were not in good shape when they arrived! I tried to eat a slice but wound up throwing both pies away! Will never order anything made by Bird-In-Hand again!!!

Meh
I wanted to love these. They arrived quickly and in good condition. Sadly, they didn't taste very good. The good ones I've had in the past, including from my PA dutch in-laws, had a much stronger molasses flavor. These were pale in color and tasted more of corn syrup than molasses. Not a repeat.

These are simply delicious!!!
Pies were outstanding!!! Brought one to my in-laws’ for Christmas Eve (nobody there even knew what Shoofly Pie was), but they were pleasantly surprised! Brought the other one to my sister’s house on Christmas Day and it was the same there. These pies are exactly how I remember them from back in the day when my parents used to take us to Lancaster. Sweet but not too sweet, deliciously flaky crust and a perfect moist filling. Only problem is that I don’t have more for myself since I gave them as gifts!

Perfect!
I used to live in Chester County PA, right next to Lancaster County where all the good Amish cooking happens! I hadn't had shoofly pie for years and really had a yearning for it and found the Bake Shop. I used to drive through Bird-in-Hand, so I felt comfortable the pie would be traditional. I ordered it and it was delivered in perfect condition, even after going through USPS. The pie was all I remembered and imagined. Id order it again in a heartbeat!

Love it!
We were craving shoo fly pie from PA and found this on Amazon. We were so excited but weren’t sure about buying a pie online. We received our pies within 2 days! Shipped overnight to Oregon from PA. Very fresh. Homemade crust. Genuine, old fashioned shoo fly pie with the perfect amount of molasses. Love these!! Recommend if you love shoo fly pie!! We let my son try this because he never had it, but heard us talking about it. He loved it!!!

FANTASTIC! FRESH! DELICIOUS!
One of the best Wet Bottom Shoe Fly Pies I've enjoyed in a long time! Crust is delicate, flaky, cake level is moist, a lot of crumbs and most importantly alot of the goo! Truly a wet bottom excellent Shoe Fly Pie! Can't find where I live in FL and am so grateful I now know where I can not only order it but get the best! Thank you! Was expecting to have a broken up pie by some prior reviews, but mine were delivered in perfect condition!
