The Millionaires

Better than I expected
But it worked well. After a few chapters, I feared it would devolve into a banal, predictable and superficial buddy movie. Like the crap Hollywood annoys us with. But it got better. More involved, more intricate and intriguing. The climax actually surprised me. Good plot twists and a pretty realistic if slightly sappy ending. The fight scenes were pretty well described, much better than most, but they were a tad overdone. Straining credulity just a bit.I enjoy meltzer's style. I've now read two of his books. I'll buy more.

Skip it unless you're a masochist!
I bought this book after seeing the author on CSPAN. Big mistake! The lead character's brother is so pesky I quit reading after two chapters. I know enough such pests in real life; I don't have to read about one in a book. If the character is based on someone in the author's life I feel sorry for the entire family. This writer is no Daniel Silva. Wasted my money on worthless trash!

Not his best
The premise of the book sounded intriguing, but the actual story, not so much. If someone can create a computer program that creates fake money and moves it around as if it were real, they certainly could create a program to move real money around. So what is the point? And then after all that, the main characters end up about right back where they started. A very disappointing ending.

Wonderful book
I practically read this in one sitting. It is that good. The characters will remain my friends for a long time. Loved the trip to Florida!

Muddled and Confused
This was the first of Meltzer's book that I've read, and I'll not likely read another. The Millionaires failed to create any real credibility with the subject matter, feeling hastily or poorly researched. And while the basic premise showed promise, the plot quickly unwound in a series of increasingly unbelievable turns. It was difficult to relate to any of the characters, who lacked any real depth and had few qualities worthy of attention. I found the story convoluted and confusing, perhaps because neither the story nor the characters were sufficient to generate any real interest in trying to figure out who was doing what, and why.

No Millionaires today
This is my first Metzer novel. I listened to the unabridged version. The narrator was great. The first section of the book caught my attention. The initial setup and reasoning was first rate. The first serious flaw came when the brothers instead of getting out of the country and enjoy the immense wealth are determined to find out more about the account they stole from. WHY!!!!The book became very bogged down about a third of the way through it. The storyline became totally unbelievable. The Secret Service is made to look like rank amateurs. The love interest in the story was telegraphed so far in advance a first grader could figure out that she was part of the initial group stealing the money. Two timid brothers have as much chance of pulling off this caper as someone winning the lottery on the first ticket purchased.Metzer continues the hyper writing to the end. In the process, he rips off at least three movies that had Disney as the scene of the climax. The ending of the story is very unsatisfactory. Don't waste your time with this book.

great suspense
This was a fun read about brothers who think they found a way to skim some money into their own pockets. Everything goes wrong but not in the ways I thought it would. It kept me guessing.Well written and easy enough to follow all the different characters.

The Millionaires hard to put down!
Brad Meltzer's The Millionairs starts off a little slow, but not too slow. He introduces you to the main characters, which include brothers Charlie and Oliver Caruso, and before you know it you're thrown into a fast-paced thriller with lots of twists and turns. The Millionaires is a great read, and you won't want to put it down! I read it in two days, and I'm somewhat of a slow reader. This is an action packed book and will keep you guessing til the end. I highly recommend it!

I love Brad Meltzer's writing style
I love Brad Meltzer's writing style. You just can't put the book down. The dialogues are original and he makes the readers feel everything the characters in the book feel. Only reason I would deduct a star is that the plot twist at the end, though surprising, is a little far-fetched and not particularly probable, but it's still a very good read.

Far too much filler waffle Story line good but full of filler waffle
Far too much filler waffle Story line good but full of filler waffle. Read the original Brad Meltzer when published, 10th Justice, his first book, was excellent. will not be trying anything else of his if Millionaires is a sample.
