I've never seen a catch like this before and was trying to work out how to put something on my catio that I could open from both sides but would still be safe. I have a sliding bolt on the inside but as it's attached to the back of the house I couldn't work out how the kids could go in and out without the cats escaping.Then I found this mechanism and it was perfect. Took me a few seconds to drill a quick hole for the wire and fit the catch and it's perfect. My kids have no issues going in and out and I can relax and know the cats are safe.Closes neatly, easy to open with the wire, I didn't use the string because of it being outside. My youngest has scratched her hand on the end of the wire a couple of times where it feeds through the latch but nothing serious and now she's more careful with how she grabs at the outside latch.Genius and very well recommended.Update: it's 2 years later and I've just swapped my door to open the other way around so removed and reinstalled the latch on the other side of the frame and it still works perfectly. It has withstood 2 years of British weather and the many demands of an excitable child slamming the door on the way to the garden toys and a grumpy teenager slamming the door just because.I still get comments on how smart an idea it is and am about to buy another for my potting shed so I can shut the door when I'm in there for warmth but still easily get in and out.

Easy to install. Mine was awkward because the gate is against a wall and it did not leave much room to access two of the screws. Also a long drill was required to go through the gate jamb. Once installed it works well. I also installed a large spring closer and the two together make sure the gate is closed and won’t blow open in the wind.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent lock and so easy to fit - didn’t come with instructions but they have them on the photos on the product Amazon page.I used the existing bolt but this lock - fit it in 15 mins.Time will tell how long it lasts esp through the winter.

Great product, very easy to install, need a long drill for the gate post. Also you can add a pad lock to the latch for added security , if you are going away

Was looking for a gate latch that would be better than the standard one already in place. I wanted one that closed easily to prevent me having to go out and close the gate every time anyone used it. This works really well and has solved the problem. Fairly easy to install, I did have to buy a long drill bit to go through the gatepost, but only took about 10 minutes to complete the installation. I have had complementary comments from others regarding the product and would thoroughly recommend.

Disappointed. This latch is too flimsy for me to use on a gate which has to secure 5 dogs. I think it will fail after being slammed shut a few times. They did offer me a refund without me asking, after they saw the review, but it was not expensive so I will probably keep it.

The latch was easy to fit and was the ideal thing for my small wife and tall gate as she struggled to open our previous latch which was on the top of the gate (6'5" tall ), just pull from the inside, she is so happy .
