Dog Pool
Making a dog pool that is both sturdy and collapses down to a storage size is a great idea. It's even better when it's got a good price tag on it. The Splash About Dog Pool has both. It's easy to set up and easy to empty, although you do have to work a bit to get that last half inch of water out, since the drain plug isn't quite at the bottom of the pool. At about 1/3 the price of the hard dog pools and being easier to store, this is definitely a good choice for the average back yard, although it might not stand up to the dogs that like to dig in the pool. Definitely shop around when buying this pool, though. The price of the pool is constant, but another seller wanted more than five times the cost of shipping that Guardian Gear charged. The pool was well packed and shipped relatively quickly, so there's no point in paying so much more for shipping.

Storing away this product at night and adding a signficant, but easy fix could make this product perfect!
We live in a very hot and rainy southern summer climate. We bought this pool for our Shepherd mix rescue-sweetie. He even looks like the dog on the photo next to this comment. It is very easy to put up. (I am a small female) The size was perfect but not too large to be dangerous to a larger dog. Our dog is still getting used to it, but is now not afraid to dip in and get his bouncing balls. This product did not get 5 stars because it really is irritating that some of the sides keep bending over. It would be so simple to modify it with removable, sturdy "sticks or plastic anchors". I would like to suggest that Amazon contact their vendor and make this request. You'd have a much better product to sell. I did not have the problems stated by others about the holes in the fabric. Our pool is on concrete and holding up nicely. Easy to clean and put away once it is drained... I don't leave it outside. I dry it and fold it up and store it in the garage. Leaving it up in the sun, may be the problem with the weakened fabric. Hope this helped.

All PAWS Up!!
I purchased this pool in early August, but based on some of the reviews I wanted to wait awhile before submitting a review. I volunteer for a large Rottweiler rescue group. In addition to two adult Rottis of my own, I also have an additional 2-3 fosters at any given time. This pool has been great--my dogs love it! I normally bought the hard plastic kiddie pools, and they don’t last more than a few months before leaking; that is an important observation because the eventual piercing of the plastic is caused by the dogs doing their “rapid scratching” routine on the bottom when they first get in the pool. The material on the bottom of this pool is very strong. The instructions state that it should be placed on a hard surface; this keeps the bottom stretched mostly flat and likely prevents their nails catching it and maybe causing a tear. There is also a line inside the pool to mark the highest level that the water should not exceed. In my opinion, these manufacturer’s instructions are very important to the proper functioning and lifespan of the pool. Admittedly, I did hesitate to buy it due to the price; however that is mostly offset by not having to repeatedly buy the kiddie pools. Plus, this pool is of much better quality and it’s LARGE….visualize 4 adult Rottweilers playing, with room to spare. A really great feature is that the pool can be folded up into a very small size for storage; that’s impossible with the regular kiddie pools. I live in Texas, so the weather will allow the use of the pool almost year round. Considering the size and strength of Rottweilers, as well as the extended months it can be used, this pool will be well tested. I will report back in a few months to update.

Splash About Dog Pool Wear & Tear
We have had the pool for 1 month and we own two 20 month old 50 pound springer spaniels. They chewed on the product so that the rim around the top is now ragged and the support paddles are exposed with the pool now holding much less water. The pool originally looked good, held water well, size and appearance were O.K., but the dogs chewing were too much for it. Tougher material is needed on the pool to avoid bite marks and loss of water holding material so that it could stand up better. The dogs do not seem to be wild chewers as they do not attack other stuff, but they did work over the pool. We may get some use out of it yet for awhile, but it won't be long and it will be headed for the trash bin.

GREAT! 60 Seconds Setup; My Dog LOVES IT!
The media could not be loaded. Works Great! It sets up in under 60 seconds. Take out of the box and it is all together in one piece, it just opens into a full size pool. My dog absolutely loved playing in it all weekend long. She was scratching at the bottom, jumping in and out etc and it held up without any issue. Super easy to drain and clean out. Definitely worth every penny! Check out my video of my Golden playing in it. She is 55 lbs and I bought the medium size pool so you get a good idea of the actual size.

The sides are sturdy but the bottom is not
The sides are sturdy but the bottom is not. It needs a heavy duty tarp of some kind between the ground and the pool bottom and that might or might not help. It only lasted one summer of light use, maybe two or three times a week. If you lose the plug, don't bother contacting the company, they won't help you. It's an odd size and trying to fit it with something from the hardware store was about impossible. I bought this hoping I could get at least a couple years use out of it, but unless I purchase a bunch of patches, it's done for. It was a lot of money for something so short lived.

Great dog pool!
It's really hot in Los Angeles right now and I wanted my 50 lbs pit/greyhound mix to be able to chill and splash around. There's no setup, just take it out of the packaging and fill with water. Seems to be very well made, it's been 2 weeks, and even though she sometimes claws at the bottom there are no rips. Wall stays upright and it's just low enough for her to jump in and out. She's smaller then the dog in the picture. Pool is easy to empty and fold away if you don't want it lying around. My dog loves it, she's using it every day. This pool will definitely be around for years to come.

Leaking and stained after 6 weeks
I have been using this in my yard on the Doggie Deck for 6 weekd now. Worked well fit the first month but is now leading at the seams and appears to be molding even though I rinse it and change water every couple days.Expected much better for the money spent and will be changing back to the 12$ hard plastic kiddie pool.

Another failure for rambunctious dogs.
It lasted less than one day before our Newfie found its weak spot. Frustrating, but probably not the result of poor manufacturing. If you have a big, rambunctious dog that dogs in water, don't spend the money on an expensive pool. This was our third try. We will be sticking to 10 dollar plastic pools this summer.

Price
The pool is ok but too expensive, my dogs will be just fine with a $10 one
