A Good Solid Jig
I have had this jig for about a week now and thought I would post my experiences having done a few dozen test joints.Firstly, it is a nicely made, solid jig. This may be obvious to most but despite what the description says, it is not a pocket hole jig, it is a dowel jig. It seems to be intended for making knock down furniture using metal connectors, but it does work for making dowel joints. The description is a little confusing, but for the avoidance of doubt, the kit includes 3 x 8mm drill guides, 1 x 6mm guide and 1 x 10mm guide. So if you are happy with 8mm dowel joints, you are all set, but if you want 6mm or 10mm joint, you will need to do some bush or guide repositioning during the drilling process. I am happy with 8mm joints, and if I want extra strength, I might put the 10mm guide in the centre position. The 3 guides are at 28mm centres. I like mine a little closer together, so I have 3d printed some spacer blocks to allow accurate repositioning of the wood to halve the spacing between the dowels.Care is needed in the set up, clamping and drilling. The jig clamp is good enough to hold the jig and wood together initially, but you will need to clamp the pack in a vice for the drilling. If you don’t, the chips rising out of the drilled hole will drive into the gap between the wood and the bush and push the two apart - moving the jig and spoiling the accuracy. As you drill, the drill bit turns clockwise, but bizarrely, the bush turns anti-clockwise, unscrewing itself and moving about. You will need to hold the bushes between your fingers or with a set of pliers to stop it turning.Overall, I like the jig, it is well made, solid, easy to use and accurate enough for me. I gave it a 1 for instructions as there aren’t any, but you should be able to work it out for yourself.

Minor alignment error.
Main body well-made and robust. Only thing about is, that there is a bit too much clearance in the bushes for the drill size enough to misalign the edges.
