Fantastic product. Avel makes the absolute best (not exaggerating) leather care products. I was looking to weather-proof the leather soles on my new AE leather boots for winter and protect them more from the salt brine on the street more than anything. I've had Saphir Renovateur - which I loved and ran out of, but I was looking for something with a little more protection. I tried using lexol (about six times) but when they dried they looked the same and dried out. Everyone said to get snowseal and other products like it, but I really didn't want to apply wax to the soles making them slippery or trap the moisture in. So, it was between Dubbin, Sole Guard, or Saphir Pure Mink, and went with Saphir's Dubbin. I'm very happy with the results as I only need a really small amount and it immediately soaked into the leather and when they dried I could tell they were going to repel water and still remain breathable. After a couple days of wet weather, they're still protected. I haven't tried it on the vamp yet, but I imagine it would darken the leather and give it a matte appearance which would be fine. I wouldn't use this product on dress shoes except for the soles or if they were extremely dried out, otherwise it would leave too much of a matte appearance and darken them too much. For weather protection, deeply nourishing leather, and a product that lasts a long time - Saphir Dubbin is the best, hands-down.

Great for rough leather to keep it treated. I have rough out suede boots (distressed suede) and this product brings them back to looking new every time!

Had to shine my daughters boots.. tried with other brand but didn’t do the job.. had to wait for this to be delivered but was worth it! It’s a hard wax so will last much longer too!

Great product for protecting boots. I've applied this to both pairs of my Redwing boots with great results. The conditioner will modify the color a bit after application but after a week or two the color modification will fade as the conditioner gets absorbed more into the leather. Paired with the Saphir waterproofer, this has protected my Red Wing boots well. Shown is a picture of my Red Wing Roughneck boots with the Graisse conditioner and waterproofer having been applied 8 months ago. Yesterday was very snowy but the Saphir products seem to do a great job in protecting the leather and keeping my feet dry.
