"Practical" size .6L according to packaging
Be aware that while the product name states "1L" and the description says not to fill beyond .7 L, the packaging for this kettles states, "PRACTICAL CAPACITY 0.6L".1L to .7L to .6L converts to 4.22, 2.95, and 2.53 cups respectively. This won't do the job for us. Returning for refund. I'm giving 3 stars simply because not having removed the plastic bag packaging, I cannot comment on the heating, pouring, etc.Do check the dimensions as well, I failed to do so and found that the kettle looks like a tiny watering can on my normal size gas range.

Great bang for your buck!
I'm a budding coffee afficionado on a budget. I wanted a way to be able to get my water to a precise temperature, but didn't want to fork out $90 for the Bonavita kettle, especially after hearing about rust concerns with that kettle. I was glad to find this little kettle on Amazon. It's all stainless with an offset handle. It's very stylish and matches my other Hario goodies in shape. The temperature gauge is SO HANDY. It's a great way to get that perfect cup of coffee without spending a ton on a fancy kettle. Just pop this on the stove, get it to the proper temp, and do your pourover, french press, aero press, Chemex, or what have you. It cleans very easily and so far I haven't noticed any rust issues at all.

UPDATED rating and review
Update:Had to throw it away today. Unfortunately, condensation gradually gathered in the thermometer until it was filled with water and started getting moldy. I bought another one from a different manufacturer (Japan this time, not China!) that doesn't have a thermometer. Just something else to break.Original review:This little kettle is great for making pour-over coffee. It holds enough water that I can make two big mugs at a time. The handle and spout are expertly designed for holding and pouring. Best of all is the thermometer that has the perfect temperature range for coffee highlighted, so I know exactly when to take it off the stove. Plus, it's cute!

Perfect size for a single cup
I bought this for my brother who's been interested in getting into this brewing method. Perfect size for a single cup. Having the thermometer on the lid, and marked with the ideal brewing temperature range, is nice and convenient. I wish the lid fit a bit tighter, but overall a nice product for the price. Perfect as a starter, and also travel, kettle.

Excellent...if you are looking to heat a thimble full of liquid
This item didn't work out for me as the capacity is inadequate for my needs. I have a Chemex "8-cup" brewer (which, based on a mathematical logarithm used expressly in the brewing of coffee) is really only 5 actual cups of water, but based on "my math" ultimately translates to two (2) actual mugs of coffee when you brew a full kettle. Because this pot will only hold 4 cups (imperial cups, not Coffee-Math Cups) of water before overflowing, I can't heat enough water to brew a full 8-cup (Coffee-math cup, not real math cup) kettle of coffee in one shot, therefore I'm either going to fork over $10 to return it or place it in my 6-year old Niece's doll house.

After a whole week using it, I love it. The thermometer is accurate enough to get the best temperature. I worry a little bit that I might forget it and end up ruining the thermometer, so I hope they sell a replacement if necessary. I also wonder what the absolute minimum water is needed (it says on the box don't use "small quantities" because it might damage the kettle, but since I usually need at least 8 oz, I suppose it won't be a problem.

Love it
Does exactly what it says it does - and water stays hot for quite a while. My only quibble is that I wish the handle was insulated so I didn't have to grab a towel or pad to pour.

Great kettle for coffee and tea!
I recently got this and I love it! The kettle is pretty resistant, the thermometer is really convenient for both coffee and tea and the gooseneck helps a lot when brewing coffee. I honestly think it's a great value for the price you pay and I would recommend this to anybody. I use it for brewing coffee mostly but also tea. Bear in mind that it's not a big kettle and it will only fit 1 litre.
