Powerful grinding let down by design faults + motor overheating
I don't recommend this little blender at all! First the good points - good looking visual design and great grinding power. It will obliterate almonds to a fine dust if needed and makes an excellent whole fruit/ vegetable smoothie. Now the bad points -1) As someone else pointed out the base and the cup are very wide - and only really good for man hands - not ergonomically well designed at all! Very hard to get the blade and cup assembled and disassembled2) It leaks - it didn't start out this way...but now it leaks liquid and dry food. The liquid escapes on to the base making a mess. Dry foods get caught in the threads.3) Impossible these days to get it open - looks like food gets caught in the threads.NOW, after just over 2 years of these struggles, the motor is giving off a burning smell. I'm just a month out of the warranty!!! By the looks of all the other reviews, I am not the only person having these issues!

Buyer beware
There is so much that is good about this blender. I have had it since March and used it most days. It’s very compact and looks good, the cups stay crystal clear, it blends as it should and the finger grip on the cup is a brilliant addition. HOWEVER, it is often really hard to unscrew the cup from the blade unit, and on three occasions has been actually impossible, even a man with a tool couldn’t do it. Have tried putting it in the freezer, tried plunging it in hot water..... stuck fast. Sage kindly replaced the cup and blade the first time but I’ve now had enough and want a refund, which they won’t give me, nor send another cup and blade unit, even though I have sent a photograph showing that the cup was not overfilled. I’m not the only one to have had this problem and I believe there is a design flaw. It seems a vacuum is created. It’s sad that Sage, rather than investigating the problem, insist that it is the customer’s fault. I am now left with a fully functioning motor unit but I’m certainly not going to buy any more cup and blade units. Sage have lost a customer.

Great blender but blade assembly bearing wears out far too readily and spares unavailable
I have had a Sage Boss to Go blender for about three years. It is simple to use, works extremely well (although like most blenders is noisy) and would be happy to keep using it for ever, but . . .The blade assembly The bearing and seal in the blade assembly are subject to failure. When the bearing fails, there is leakage through the seal, the amount of leakage dependent on the consistency and quantity of the mixture in the jug. The failure can be identified, because the blades will rock sideways and up/down if pushed gently. The first failure I had was during the Warranty period and Sage sent me a replacement fairly promptly, but I had to send them a picture of the failed blade assembly. With the replacement, the blender then worked perfectly again. For a while. The blade assembly failed in the same way earlier this year and, as the machine is now out of Warranty I went onto the Sage web site to order a replacement. Firstly, the replacement blade assembly costs nearly £18, secondly they have been unavailable for months and still are.I have made two phone calls to Sage. The first one promised to send a replacement within two weeks, but nothing happened. I phoned again and was told that the promise I had been given earlier had been a mistake as there were no blade assemblies available. They are made in China. I spoke to someone called Lukas, who opened a Case Number (Case number R101582644) and promised that the blade units would be in stock after November 5th. Today is the 14th and still I have heard nothing from them.I am now trying to decide which blender to buy to replace the Sage.January 2022I thought I ought to record that the blade assembly never arrived. So I gave up and bought a Ninja, which is even noisier, but has so far been far more reliable.

Love the compact style and easy operation of the Sage Boss to Go ... Shame about the leak!
Love the look and feel of this compact and stylish blender from Sage, including the beautiful cups with the clever screw top design making them a joy to drink from. Operation is simple and the device is easy to clean, especially compared to a Vitamix The blender worked perfectly for two or three months. Then the leaking problem others have reported commenced. Initially this was an intermittent issue but now pretty much every time I use the blender it leaks. This has become a daily irritation when using the Sage Boss to Go. Shame, because I loved this blender wholeheartedly and raved about it to anyone interested in blending. I expected it to perform well for years but sadly this has not been the case.

Sage The Boss Blender
This product does a really good job at blending, however removing the cup from the blade unit is really difficult (I'm a strong guy). My partner has a weak left wrist and finds it impossible to open. I think that there should be a pressure/vacuum release to allow any built up pressure to escape. However there isn't that incorporated in the device so we have to live with an unusable blender. It's a shame because otherwise it's perfect. The product reputation is suffering because of this and readers will be less inclines to buy. People with arthritis, weak wrists will find it impossible to use. Hoping the manufacturer will find a fix for all those who are having issues with the cup/blade.
